Tim Henman grateful for “happy and healthy” daughters
As he prepares to cover Wimbledon for the first time ever from the broadcasting booth, retired professional tennis player Tim Henman says he doesn’t miss playing — and his 5 ½-year-old daughter Rose ‘Rosie’ Elizabeth shows no inclination toward the sport, either. Tim — who is also dad to Olivia, 3 ½ and Grace, 9-months — said that his eldest daughter has dabbled "a little" in tennis but is primarily preoccupied with "riding bikes and dressing up."
Retiring from the sport at the age of 33 gives Tim a unique opportunity to spend lots of time with his kids, something he said he is "really lucky" to have. He added,
I’m really making the most of it. I’ve always been incredibly passionate, motivated and committed to my career but at the end of the day it’s a game. My family and my children are much more important…Having happy and healthy children is the best gift you can have.
Rose, Olivia and Grace are Tim’s children with wife Lucy.
