"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

TruKid: Skincare with a healthy message

Sunnydays_040808My almost-3-year-old doesn’t like sunscreen and when you ask her why, she has a really simple answer for you: It smells.  Still, I refuse to relent and the rule of our household is that we don’t leave without applying SPF 30 on every visible piece of our body (even if it does mean we’re a little stinky).  By making sunscreen a rule that we follow very rigidly, I’m instilling an important habit in her that will last a lifetime.

Such healthy habits are the premise behind TruKid products. The skincare line, which offers organic products that are free of harmful ingredients (think parabens, phthalates, etc.), comes with a message: that healthy habits should start early and last a lifetime.  The accompanying website, www.TruKid.com, highlights each product with a healthy habits skincare lesson and song to reinforce the message.

Created by a mother of six (yes, six!), TruKid is a complete skincare line which includes everyday staples such as Bubbly Body Bar Soap (which we used and loved; $6), Sunny Days Sunscreen (our current favorite; $14) and a Hero Stick (a healing salve that can be used as a natural alternative for bruised knees or scraped elbows; $10).

TruKid most recently launched a line of non-toxic hair and bath products which we haven’t sampled yet but I’m sure they’re just as great. All these products smell so great you actually enjoy wearing them and there is something to be said about not having to worry that strange chemicals are seeping into your child’s skin.

Check out the entire TruKid selection, as well as the super-fun site at www.TruKid.com. By the way, what does TruKid Sunny Days smell like? My daughter’s answer, again, is a simple one: Oranges!

Exclusive for CBB Reviews Readers: Free Sunny Days SPF30+ Face Stick with Purchase of $25 or more ($10 value).  Use coupon code CBBFS. Expires September 15, 2008.

I also love TruKid sunscreen! I was introduced to the Hero stick by a friend and have since began using almost the entire line. My kids also love the smell and finally don’t complain about putting on sunscreen (no funky, fake coconut smell anymore!). It’s nice to be able to rest assured that the products I’m using on my children (and myself!) are safe, non-toxic and high quality. Keep up the good work TruKid!
