Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban welcome daughter Sunday Rose

Nicolekidman144389_cbbActress Nicole Kidman and country star Keith Urban, 40, are "delighted" to announce that they have welcomed their first child together, a daughter. Sunday Rose Kidman Urban arrived in Nashville, TN earlier this morning, Monday, July 7th, weighing in at 6 lbs, 7.5 oz. Nicole gave birth naturally, without an induction. Keith writes on his website:

Earlier this morning Nic gave birth to our beautiful baby girl, SundayRose Kidman Urban. We want to thank everybody that has kept us in theirthoughts and prayers. We feel very blessed and grateful that we canshare this joy with all of you today.

In addition, the couple exclusively told People.com,

We feel immensely blessed and grateful to be given this beautiful baby girl. She’s an absolute delight.

Sunday joins older siblings Isabella Jane, 15, and Connor Antony, 13, Nicole’s children with Tom Cruise.

The couple announced the pregnancy in January. In February, Nicole, 41, admitted, "I know [the sex of the baby], but I’m not sharing." In April came the admission that the first trimester was full of "severe morning sickness." Most recently, Nicole posed for the July issue of Vogue.

I was thinking boy too but I think it will be sweet to see her with a girl! Any chance, with that name, she was actually born late yesterday?!!! I think it’s pretty…

  19. Nicole Says:

So, so, so happy for them. I had a feeling it would be a girl! Sunday Urban, what a cool name! Keith also has a song called “Raining on Sunday,” I wonder if that had anything to do with the name? Doubt it, probably just a coincidence. Congrats to the Kidman-Urban family!

  20. CTBmom Says:

Aww. Congratulations to Nicole and Keith! I bet little Sunday Rose is beautiful! Lisa, I agree….I’ve been checking the site regulary the last two days expecting some news on Angelina or Camila and was really surprised to find that Nicole had give birth. Congrats to them both…thats a beautiful name. Very pretty.

  22. Sylvana Says:

Congrats to Nicole, Keith, Isabella and Connor with the arrival of their daughter and little sister.

Hmm, Not so found of the name Sunday. I geuss it would be different is she was actually born on Sunday. Ahh well but Rose is a lovey name.

  23. Kirrily Says:

Sunday Rose is a gorgeous name, congratulations to Nicole and Keith and the family!!!

  24. kiley Says:

Wow! I had to read the headline twice because I was soo suprised! Congrats to them!

I wonder why they released the baby’s weight and not the length? I’m just curious. It probably wasn’t even intentional but I was just wondering because her bump seemed tiny :)

My son was 7 lbs 6 ounces and 19 inches long. I am barely 5 3 and I was HUGE!

  25. Jaime Says:

    Congrats Nicole & Keith!!!!

I thought the babies name was Rose when I first read the post. When I realized the name was Sunday I’m kinda shocked. Not a big fan of the name at all.

  26. Deborah Says:

Congrat’s to them both. Sunday … vs … Suri (kinda close in my books). Not Sure I’m a fan of the name Sunday. Rose is cuter.

  27. stephanie Says:

I LOVE the name! Kidman-Urban is a mouthful, though.

  28. Linda Says:

Congrats to them! I’m so happy for the both of them!

  29. Jess Says:

How wonderful! I was just thinking today when I commented on the other post that I couldn’t wait for her to have her baby. And now I randomly check again & here’s the news! How exciting…I think the name is different, but pretty.

  30. Annemarie Says:

I love the name, although it is different. Urban is a tough last name so I was wondering what they would choose.

Stephanie, it is not Kidman-Urban, it sounds more like Kidman is a second middle name and she will go by Sunday Urban.

  31. catherine Says:

OH wow I am so surprised was only on hear a few hours ago reading Keith saying she was very, very pregnant and now she has popped already YAY !!!

I love the name it’s cute and different but not wacky , can’t wait to see pictures i’m sure she’ll be a real beauty .

Congratulations Nicole and keith on her arrival and to all the family !

    Catherine xxx

  32. Emma Says:

That is wonderful news, I think most media outlets said it was a boy so I was surprised to hear a girl.

I have only ever heard of one Sunday before, she is Greek and it is a lovely name.

Only thing is you so know she will be asked if she was born on a Sunday!

    Congrats to the Kidman/Urban family!

  33. LadyL Says:

I dont so much like the name, would sound better if it was just Sunday Rose Urban, but congrats to all of them God bless hope everyone is healthy and happy!!!

  34. Michelle Says:

Sounds like a country music superstar in the making. Sunday Rose…it’s different. I like it.

  35. foni Says:

i’m very excited about Nicole, because she has been hoping for a child for a long time. congrats on them and i bet she is gorgeous! sunday rose is a very usual name considering other celebrity babies’ names we have recently heard of. It may show that she was born yesterday or even more peculiar, today for the greek orthodox is the nameday of saint Kiriaki (and kiriaki is Sunday in Greek, both the name and the day). i hope for them the best for their little princess.

  36. Christa Says:

Congrats to the entire family. I love the name and wish them nothing but happiness.

  37. Amanda Says:

Well I’m sure Nicole was in labor at least part of Sunday ;) judging by how early this morning she must have been born for the news to be out already.
I’m SO happy for Nicole, I’ve watched her through the years and in some interviews you could just tell how much she longed for another baby, I bet Sunday Rose is just beautiful and I can’t wait to see pictures!

  38. Shelly Says:

Congrats to Nicole and Keith! I was surprised to hear it was a girl considering the rumor it was a boy!

  39. Moore Says:

I’m so happy for them! Sunday Rose is a pretty name.

  40. Violet Says:

I love the name Sunday for a little girl… it was on my girls’ names list my last 2 pregnancies (I ended up having boys.
    Congrats to the Kidman-Urbans!

  41. tink1217 Says:

How exciting!!! LOVE the name too!!! Congrats to Nicole and Keith!!!!

  42. Gigi Says:

she seems like such a delicate soul. it looks as though she has truly found her happiness. many blessings to her and keith and their new princess.

  43. Stephany Says:

Congrats to Nicole and Keith! For some reason, I thought she was having a boy. I’m not sold on the name. Sunday Rose sounds very cute together but Sunday, as a name…it’s different. :)

  44. Jade Says:

Aww I like the name Sunday Rose. I was hoping the baby was a girl.I hope she’ll look like her mother.

  45. Sami Says:

Congrats to them! I love the name Sunday, although I do feel it would be more appropriate if she actually was born on Sunday. Well at least it was probably Sunday in California or Hawaii! I wish my daughter had been born on a Sunday… the old nursery rhyme says that is the best day to be born. Instead she was born on a Wednesday like I was. boo :( Oh well, I didn’t believe that rhyme anyway. :)

I think Rose is an interesting choice for a middle name considering that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes claim that Suri means “Rose”.

  46. Dierna Says:

Sunday Rose?! OMG…That’s such a beautiful name!! Congrats to Nicole and Keith!! :D

  47. Philippa Says:

ah that’s great, congrats to them! i had a feeling they were having a girl…

  48. Brandi Says:

Wow, I expected a more traditional name like Connor and Isabella.

  49. Hanna Says:

    monday would be better

  50. Rachel-Jane Says:

Sunday Rose, hmmm. I wonder why Sunday? Also I think it sounds like Sunday Roast!

    Congratulations to Nicole and Keith.

  51. Tara Says:

    Congrats! What great news!

  52. Kelly Says:

Congratulations to the Kidman/Urban family…what a beautiful name! All the best!

  53. Alana Says:

    This is great news!!!
Congratulation to the growing family! All the happiness and health to little one and nicole. Keith and Nicole are probably over a moon !!!

  54. brooke Says:

Sunday rose, oh god what a bad name. I can’t imagine calling a little girl, hey sunday want some dinner lol. Celebrities sure do pick weird names, but anyway congrats to her and she carried very small but the baby was a decent weight.

  55. southlyn Says:

Love the name… I wish them so much happiness.

  56. Kerri Says:

Hmm, I had actually expected Nicole to pick a bit more of a traditional name. But Sunday has kind of a country feel to me, which makes sense. I love Rose as a middle name and I suspect Sunday will grow on me. Sunday Urban has such a cute ring to it, though!

Congrats to them, they seem like such sweet people :) So glad Nicole found love again AND a new baby!

  57. Maggie Says:

aww sooo happy to hear this news!! I got goose bumps when i read it!! Sunday Rose….how pretty!! Wow Nicole must have had a fast birth?? keiths announcement about his very very very pregnant wife and the birth announcement came close together! god bless them.

  58. Amanda Says:

Very best wishes to the family!

  59. rachael Says:

Interesting name choice, especially given that one of Keith’s big songs is “Raining on Sunday.” Love the name Rose, and I’m so happy for Nicole and Keith. I’m sure they’re on Cloud Nine!

  60. i think Says:

@emma Sunday isnt solely Greek. Its a common West Afrikan name.

@sami I agree. Kate/tom say suri means rose and now Nic’s daughter ’s middle name is rose.

@rachel: I agree. Perhaps “Raining On Sunday” not only KU’s biggest hit but the song that caught Nic’s interest in KU so their daughter is named in honour of that?

Yea Nic! After an extopic preg & miscarriage I know this must be extra xtra special for you.

  61. emma Says:

Lol – Sunday was born on a Monday. I’ve never heard of Sunday as a name before but I do quite like it – is sounds very pretty with Rose.

Congratulations to them all – this really is a long-awaited baby!

  62. Lena Says:

Oh my god, I am so happy for the two of them. That’s really great.

Now Nicole got her miracle baby!!!!

And the name is really cute: Sunday Rose. Imagine her, looking like her mother one day, that suites her really well. :)

I just wish them the best……

When I heard that the baby was finally here, I was so happy and I just coudn’t stop smiling, because I’m such a big fan of Nicole!!!!

Love Lena (Nicole we love you so much over here in Germany)

  63. Erica Says:

I love the name Sunday Rose! It’s different, but if you think about it out of all the days of the week Sunday is the best suited for a girl’s name. And I love how they paired it with the beautifully classic Rose. Connor is becoming more and more outnumbered and I bet he loves it!

  64. erica alayne Says:

Oh, I just KNEW that she was having a girl! I didn’t believe all of the rumors about a boy for a second. I just really felt like she was having a girl.

I’m surprised because I would have thought that they would have picked a more traditional name, but I think Sunday Rose is adorable. Congrats to them!

  65. M Says:

Sami & Rachel. Rose is the name of Keith’s grandmothers who passed away in 2004.
    And “Suri” means also princess

Congrats to this beautiful couple! Sunday Rose it’s a beautiful name…

  66. Emaline Says:

I am so happy for you and Keith, Nicole! Congratulations!!!!

  67. Paige Says:

Aw, Congratulations to Keith and Nicole. I think her name is pretty and I’m sure she is absolutely beautiful like her mother.

  68. Elaine Says:

Awww what lovely news. Sunday Rose is a sweet name, and it is nice that they are honouring Keith’s grandmothers in her name.

  69. Jeannette Says:

Congratulations! I was wondering when Nicole was going to pop out a baby this month and I’m glad Sunday Rose is a healthy baby- you can even hear the happiness in Keith’s message. I wish all three (or five, including Isabella and Connor) the best of luck!

  70. jashmom Says:

Congrats to Nicole and Keith!!! I’m sure their daughter is just as gorgeous as her parents!!! Can’t wait to see pictures =)

Wonder if Suri and Sunday will have playdates ;)

  73. J.M. Says:

and I also wonder had they had the baby yesterday would they have gone with sunday LOL!!!

  74. Justin Says:

Sunday is my cousin’s name! it’s beautiful…A name full of joy!
    CONGRATS NIC & KEITH…

  75. Doreen Says:

Yahhhh!! Congrats to the happy parents on their lil precious Sunday Rose!! :)

  76. say1031 Says:

OMG, I totally thought boy for her, but I’m thrilled she had a girl. Love her name and Sunny is a cute nicknmae should they want one.

  77. tan Says:

yay so happy for them!congrats nicole and keith!

  78. rimmie Says:

CONGRATS!!! That is so wonderful and that name is just perfect.

  79. blackrose Says:

i love the name!!! Sunday Rose and my sister share the share the same birthday! congratulations! :D :D

  80. Umma A Says:

    @ Rachel-Jane: Sunday Roast — LOL!

I thought the name was Rose and that she was born on Sunday when I first read the post. Then I had to read it again to realize her name was Sunday! It’s cute. I never would have thought of it.

I’m glad one of those celeb moms finally had a baby–seems like I’ve been waiting to hear something forever!

    Congrats to them..

  81. babyboopie Says:

Congrats to Nicole and Keith on their little girl Sunny, bet she is beautiful!

  82. Alice Says:

    Sunday Rose flows nicely =)
Congratulations to the whole Kidman Urban family, and all the best to their little girl!

  83. Grayson's Girl Says:

Congrats to Nicole and Keith! I LOVE her name! Sunday Rose is a beautiful name for what I’m sure is a beautiful girl! I’m so happy for her, especially knowing how much she has wanted another child. It seems things happened at the right time with the right man to create the perfect circumstances for little Sunday to make her debut into! Many blessings to them!

I have to say I’ve been steadily impressed with the newest stream of celebrity baby names! Quite a few celebs have been finding a wonderful balance between unique and classy vs. plain and redundant. Harlow, Honor, Eden, Savannah, Shiloh, Suri, and now Sunday have all been beautifully different from the standards without venturing into the ridiculous. Kudos to their parents!

  84. ang Says:

sunday yet born on monday lol interesting but cute name.a little aussie superstar in the making =)

  85. JK Says:

Finally!!!!!!! Yay! I predicted a girl…and can’t wait to see pictures. I’m sure she’s just gorgeous. Unique name…I like it! Congratulations!

  86. Love The Name Says:

Love the name – Sunday is such a wholesome name days spent @ Church, having roast dinner and walking in the countryside!

  87. Kelly Says:

Sunday Rose…unique without being ridiculous. Beautiful name, many congratulations.

  88. sleekraven Says:

Very many congratulations to Keith and Nicole. I wish your family abundance joy and Happiness. And welcome into a beautiful world baby Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, God bless you and be with you :) .

  89. iluvallbabies Says:

I think its such a pretty name, but sounds so close to Sunday Roast as someone suggested!!! LOL.

  90. Diane Says:

    Yee ha!!! Yahoo!!! Yeah!!!!

Congratulations!!!! We can’t wait to see her.

  91. Kellie Says:

Congrats to Nicole and Keith! I bet she is a beauty! LOVE love LOVE the name!!!!

Oh and awesome birthday…not saying that because it is mine..ok yeah I am! hehe

  92. J.J. Says:

Yay congrats to the Kidman-Urban families on the arrival of the new little girl!!! I knew it was a girl! I also like the name Sunday Rose, and hope both mama and baby daughter are doing fine!!

  93. Kelly Says:

Yay congrats to Nice, Keith, and family!! I kind of had a feeling it would be a girl. I’m not really a big fan of the name but do like how it sounds.

  94. angela Says:

congations to nicole, keith and baby sunday!

  95. Amanda Says:

Congrats to Keith & Nicole on the birth of their baby girl, Sunday! I absolutely adore her name. Unique, but not out there. Girly, but not over the top. :-) I hope they share pictures with us soon, I bet she’s beautiful.

  96. ERICKA Says:

awwwwwwww yaya congrats to them!! what a beautiful name!

  97. Shane Spencer Says:

:-( ( AH, THAT’S VERY, VERY DEVASTATING!! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A BOY!! SHAME ON YOU, KEITH AND NICOLE!!

  98. Donna Says:

I’m so happy for them! What a lovely name for a girl! I love Keith’s “Raining on Sunday,” I think it’s the most beautiful thing he’s done.

Congrats to the Urbans and to Connor and Bella.

  99. Renee Says:

to kirrily: in answer to why baby Sunday’s length was not released, it could simply be because Keith and Nicole /their publicist did not know it! i am a postpartum RN and have many parents asking me their baby’s lengths because it is not put on the baby’s name card…we put the weight at birth but wait for the pediatrician to measure them.

  100. Jennifer Says:

Congratulations to Nicole and Keith on their arrival of their baby girl! And congrats, also, to Isabella and Connor, on their sister!

I’m sure little Sunday is an absolute beauty! :-)

  101. FC Says:

Congrats to Nicole and Keith. I actually like the name, and this isn’t the first time I’ve heard of a girl named Sunday. I just think Sunday Rose Urban flows a lot nicer than having Kidman in there as well.

But anyway, I’m happy for the couple! Hope to see a pic of her soon.

  102. Allison Says:

I wonder if she had a natural birth? Anyone know?

  103. kelly Says:

    YAY!!!!
    congrats Nicole & Keith
Sunday was born the day before my birthday
    thats cool!

  104. Maddy Says:

    YAY!!!
I was so happy when I got this news today!! I love Sunday Rose, I think it’s so pretty. It reminds me of Keith’s song “Raining on Sunday” – I wonder if it relates at all?

Regardless, I love it, and love them!!

    Congrats!! Yayyyy!! :D

  105. Erin Says:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the name (though it sounds better without the Kidman, IMO.) ♥ I’m sure she is gorgeous! Can’t wait for pictures!!!

    Congratulations to Nicole and Keith!!

  106. blue_butterfly Says:

I absolutely adore the name Sunday Rose – it’s just beautiful and I’m sure baby Sunday is just as adorable as her name… congrats to Nicole, Keith, Isabella & Connor!

  107. Ashley Says:

Congrats to Nichole and Keith! I think I am happier for them than any other celeb couple lately!

And I agree, Sunday Rose is cute together, but I am not so sure about Sunday by its self.

  108. Chicki Says:

I guess little Sunday will have the privilege of dual citizenship, since she was born here? :) I am truly happy for the new parents – and my phrasing of “new parents” is in no way meant to diminish her role as mom to her first two kids, but as far as I know Keith is a first time dad and they’re experiencing this new life together! Congrats to the happy couple.

  109. Bancie1031 Says:

Congratulations to Nicole and Keith Urban!!! I was right they had a precious little baby girl :D I hope they decide to share a picture of her with us. I love the name Rose but I don’t really care for the name Sunday but I’m sure it will grow on me like Suri did :) I wish them the best of luck and happiness!

  110. brooke Says:

Congrats to them on a healthy baby girl, but that’s not a cute name at all to me. Sunday is a day of the week, not a female name, but to each is own. Rose would be nicer if they call her, but they will probably call her sunday.

  111. Luisa Says:

Congrats to the Kidman-Urban family! With parents this good-looking, little Sunday is sure to be gorgeous… I wonder if we’ll get to see her?

And I just have to get this off my chest… why do people find it strange when someone has a month or day name but wasn’t born at that time? For instance, regarding Sunday Rose, I’ve already seen a few remarks (not necessarily on this site) such as “a Sunday born on a Monday? What the heck were Nicole and Keith thinking???”. Maybe the name Sunday means something special to them, and they didn’t just randomly name her after the day they thought she was going to be born? Honestly, is that so hard to comprehend? Phew, sorry for the little rant, I’ll get off my soapbox now…

  112. Jennifer Says:

congrats to the happy family. i am so happy for them and cannot wait for keith’s new album. he is an amazing songwriter, and now after experiencing the love for his child, his songs are going to be unbelievable!

  113. Rosy J Says:

Congratulations to Nicole and Keith! I love the name. Bella and Connor have another little sister. This is good news indeed.

  114. claudiazz Says:

I bet that “Sunday” has some special significance for Nic and Keith that only their closest friends will ever know. Maybe their first date was on a Sunday, they conceived their daughter on a Sunday, etc., etc. Nic is quite private, we may never know what the significance is of her name, but I feel certain that it has some special meaning for her parents.

  115. hkdiaz Says:

I’m not normally one who likes “interesting names”, but I love this little girl’s name Congrats Nicole and Keith!

  116. DLR Says:

Oh what a nice surprise! The baby is actually a pretty good weight considering how small Nicole was during her pregnancy! Goes to show every pregnancy is different, and Nicole certainly carried very nicely and petite! If only we could all look like that when pregnant! Sunday Rose Urban is a nice name, not sure about the significance of using a day name, reminds me of Wednesday Addams, or even Sunday Roast!

Anyway, congrats to Nicole, Keith, Connor, and Isabella on the newest addition to their family!

  117. annie Says:

I tend to agree with Luisa’s point about the name, Sunday, and very many adverse reactions to it. Anyone remember that Nicole and Keith were married on a…..Sunday?

  118. Summer Says:

Congrats to them! BTW Im a Summer who was NOT born in summer, so I dont see why its s big deal that she wasnt born sunday.

  119. Mary-Helen Says:

I really dislike the name, but congrats to Nicole and Keith!

  120. Nicole Says:

CONGRATS TO Keith and Nicole! So glad little miss Sunday has made her arrival!

I’m not sure what I think of the name yet, though I think it has a classy touch to it.

As far as it being interesting they used “Rose” when Tom and Katie claim that Suri means Rose— does it truly matter? I don’t think that was high on Keith and Nicole’s priority list, they chose a name for their daughter that they loved and meant something to them, and that’s most important. No need to even bring Katie and Tom in it :)

  121. Alison Says:

Even though she was not born on a Sunday, her birthday is 7/7. This is really interesting given that Sunday is the 7th day of the week. However I am sure this name has a greater meaning to this family.

  122. Julia A Says:

    Congrats to Keith and Nicole!
I’ve just realized how often “Sunday” shows up in country music (I’m a country music fan). Besides Keith Urban’s “Raining on Sunday”, there’s also Craig Morgan’s “That’s what I like about Sunday” and Reba McEntire’s “Sunday kind of love”, etc. I think Sunday calls to mind an image of being relaxed and at peace.

  123. pam woodhouse Says:

Nicole has been quietly determined to experience biological motherhood and I am delighted her prayers have been answered. I wish her and Keith joy and peace as they welcome their latest addition. And the name Sunday? Precious!

  124. a Says:

i wonder if she will get a citizenship for new zealand where keith was actually born

  125. zaraB Says:

    Congratulations to Nicole and Keith!

I like the names Sunday and Rose separately, but Sunday Rose sounds waaaay too much like Sunday Roast to me!

  126. Casey Says:

I’m sure the Suri connection wasn’t even a thought for them.

Suri also means Pick-pocket in japanese, so has multiple meanings…

love the name, very peaceful and delicate, like mamma.

    Congrats from down under!!!

  128. Elizabeth Says:

Congratulations to Keith and Nicole! I am so glad to hear that their little one has joined the world safe and sound!

  129. Heather Says:

Sunday Rose is cute but I hope they don’t call her “Sunny” for a nickname. I didn’t expect something so unusual from Nic; I thought for sure she’s go with something classic.
    Congrats to them.

  130. Mousie Says:

Nicole was born in the US, so she must be a citizen here also.

  131. Jennifer Says:

What a lovely name for a lovely baby girl. i am over the moon for them and their family. welcome baby sunday!

  132. Nicole Says:

What if they end up calling her Suni or Sunny, that is way too close to her ex-husband’s kid’s name for me.

But, anyway, congrats to the family. I’m sure she can join the high school I’m going to open in about 10 years for celeb kids with strange names. :)

  133. Nicole Says:

But, anyway, congrats to the family. I’m sure she can join the high school I’m going to open in about 10 years for celeb kids with strange names. :)

  134. lucy80 Says:

I ALSO AM VERY CURIOUS TO KNOW IF NICOLE HAD A NATURAL BIRTH, WONDER IF WE WILL FIND IT OUT?
    CONGRATS TO THEM

  135. leianajade Says:

Congratulations to Nicole and Keith! I’m happy for the both of them, and look forward to seeing their beautiful Sunday Rose whenever they’re ready to share her. :)

  136. kiley Says:

RENEE- Thanks sooo much for your answer-that makes sense!

On the name I thought at first it was Surprisingly sweet and pretty, but I can’t imagine calling a little girl Sunday on a daily basis :) Like “Sunday, how was school?” (and i won’t pretend I understand the way celebrities name their children)

    Congrats to them!

  137. Rye Says:

How incredible!!! I am so happy for them!!!! I am also extremely shocked (and VERY delighted!) that they had a little girl-I was completely sure they were having a boy(I even remember Nicole making a slip once and referring to the baby as a “he”) but I REALLY wanted her to have a girl and I am so happy they did! She is going to be stunning! Isabella and Connor have yet another baby sister! How exciting for them! :)

  138. skyler satine Says:

“The first one’s born and her brother comes along” – Once In A Lifetime

    Wow, Keith is pyschic!

Congrats to my favorite celeb couple!

  139. chris Says:

Congrats to Nicole and Keith! I’m sure Sunday Rose is a doll! Sunny would be a cute nickname for her!

  140. Kim Says:

Sunday Rose is a beautiful name, really reminds me of an old fashioned Country girl, could make a song out of her name very easily! Wouldn’t be surprised if Keith had a hand in her name :)

  141. Judy Says:

I’m delighted for Keith and Nicole and wish them all the best with their precious baby girl.

  142. CelebBabyLover Says:

Congrats to Nicole and Keith! I am actually not surprised that Kidman is part of her name, as Isabella and Connor’s full names are Isabella Jane Kidman Cruise and Connor Anthony Kidman Cruise. I’m guessing Sunday will just go by Sunday Urban, though, just as Isabella and Connor go by Isabella Cruise and Connor Cruise.

  143. Jeni Says:

The connections of Suri meaning rose and them middle naming her Rose, are just plain annoying. I’ve read on a few sites that Keith’s grandmother’s name was Rose and she passed away in 2004. So the middle name probably has to do with that more than anything else. And I think that’s beautiful and such a lovely way to honor his grandmother. And I think it’s a beautiful middle name. So it’s nothing to do with in any way a connection to Suri’s name. Like they’re concerned about that.

And congrats to them both, and their respective families. =] That little girl probably has them wrapped around her little finger already. I’m SO happy for them!

And she came at just the right time, as Keith doesn’t have another show with Kenny until the 19th, so he has time to spend with his wife and child (which I’m sure they planned it so he wouldn’t have any shows around the time she was to give birth). Though I’m not sure if he’ll want to be separated from them now that he’s got little Sunday Rose finally here and in his arms. But at least he’s only got 7 shows over the span of two months and then unlimited time to spend with Nicole and Sunday Rose. =D

  144. Rebecka Says:

I absolutely love the name Sunday Rose! I agree with a lot of you, I was surprised to see she had already delivered. I as well was expecting Camila or Angelina to give birth first.

As for her name being a day of the week, I think it is cute…. I love Sunday for a baby girls names, very classy and elegant. I think it is definitely fitting for Keith and Nicole. I would never use the name since my last name is Monday, but I think it is just perfect for them :)

  145. Kayleigh Says:

Kinda sounds like ‘Sunday Roast’ LOL, still cute tho!

  146. Nelle Says:

I’m so delighted to hear this news! Even though my mom (whose 5′10″) carried very small like Nicole, i wasn’t expecting a birth so so.
    Congrats to the family.
Love the name, so sweet, even though I expected something more traditional.
I agree with Luisa’s suggestion that the name has some other significance to Keith & Nicole.

  147. Sheri Says:

My heart is full of joy for them! Not crazy about “Sunday”, but it’s slowly growing on me already. I just hope she doesn’t get called “Sunny” as a nickname. Love Rose, though, for a middle name – that’s the middle name my husband and I have picked out for a girl. May God bless Nicole, Keith and little Sunday with a lifetime of happiness!

  148. Sarah Says:

That is a really silly name!Is it a competition to pick the silliest celeb name.

  149. Cora Says:

Congratulations to the lovely couple, that’s wonderful news! I bet there will be a lot of family and friends flying into their hometown this week. I wonder if little Sunday Rose has red hair?

Surprised at the number of peeps who are commenting on how unusual the name is though – Sunday isn’t especially different, is it? Not so oft-used, perhaps, but as far as I know it’s always been around. Perhaps it’s just a case of different cultures…

  150. SouthernBelle Says:

Good call, Annie, on remembering Keith and Nicole were married on a Sunday. That could have been significant in choosing little Sunday Rose’s first name. Also Sunday is the Christian day of worship. Several of you pointed out Sunday might be linked to Keith’s song Raining on Sunday or that Rose could be in honor of a family member…there are so many possible factors in the Kidman/Urban choice of her name. I’m sure Sunday means something special to them and it would be interesting to find out if they are inclined to share. I think there would be less speculation on her name if she was born on Sunday. Having said that, Sunday Rose is a beautiful name with lots of charm and IMO is very sweet, gentile and so girly-girl. I love it. I’m glad little Sunday and Nicole are doing well and that it appears that the birth was uncomplicated. Nicole has wanted a baby for so long so I’m thrilled for her after all she has been through. Congratulations to Keith, Nicole and the whole Kidman/Urban Family!

  151. Sandra Says:

Congratulations Nicole and Keith. I´m really happy for them that their dream come true. I wish them all the best for themselves and their little daughter, I´m sure she is beautiful and perfect, and Sunday Rose is a beautiful name for her daughter.

  152. Cristy Says:

“Sunday Rose” sounds more like ‘Sunday ROAST’, what are some people thinking when they name their children, teasing happens no matter what but you dont want to help kids tease by choosing stupid names. What ever happened to Mary and Sarah, such beautiful and traditional names; at least you can both spell and pronounce them……..

  153. Kat Says:

I think Sunday Rose is a pretty name.
In response to people thinking it sounds like Sunday Roast…
A long time ago in Australia there was an ad on the TV where a girl won a date with Tom Cruise, and she knocked it back, because her Mum was cooking a roast. She wanted a roast more than a date with Tom Cruise.
    ;)
Congratulations to Nicole and Keith. I am lookign forward to seeing photos of their gorgeous (how could she not be?) daughter.

  154. Joleen Says:

Obviously I don’t know this couple but when I read that they had their baby I let out screams of happiness. I can’t remember feeling so happy and excited over any other celebrity birth before. Nicole seems like she’s wanted this for a really long time and with the birth of her daughter with Keith, Sunday Rose, I hope it’s everything she wanted and more. Congratulations to the new parents!! I can’t wait to see their beautiful baby girl although I hope the paps will give them their privacy and let them show the baby for the public to see on their terms. Congrats again to Nicole, Keith, and Sunday Rose!!

  155. ila Says:

I love the name Sunday, it’s really common in spanish Domingo for boys and Dominga for girls… it’s hardly unsual in Latin America and Spain

  156. nicky Says:

Congrats on the new baby girl to the whole family.

  157. Aitch Says:

Beautiful name! I am so happy for NIcole. She deserves this happiness and love.

  158. Stacey Says:

If you go on People.com they explain the meaning behind the name!

  159. sarah Says:

Am so happy for them that will be one gorgeous baby you know it I hope she get her moms red hair it would look so good with her sparkling blue eyes she should have since both her parents have blue eyes wow that kid would be cute it could be an actress or a singer. 163. Miranda Says:

Maybe she was conceived on a Sunday…or maybe there is some other significance to Sunday. I know Keith has a song with Sunday in the title :)

  164. Allie Says:

here is the name all explained i think people might have missed it if youre just coming to the birth post.

I want to send them one of those Urban Baby Bonnets; does anyone know where you can send a gift?

  168. M Says:

Adorable name!! We almost named our daughter Sunday Eliza, because she was due on a Sunday and we loved the name. We ended up naming her Alexia June, because she was born June 1st.
