“Sad, old spinster” Lisa Snowdon contemplating adoption
British model Lisa Snowdon says that as she’s gotten older she’s become less sure of whether or not she wants to be a mom. "Having children used to be something I was sure I wanted," she recently told Daily Express, "but now I go through phases where I don’t know if it is." With a string of high-profile boyfriends behind her — including an on-again, off-again relationship with actor George Clooney — Lisa revealed that if she does have a baby, it might be via adoption. She said,
I have adoption in the back of my mind but it would have to be something I thought through properly.
Single at 36, Lisa jokingly referred to herself as a "sad, old spinster" and said that — no matter which avenue she pursues — motherhood is "not something that’s going to happen soon." She added,
I know I don’t want to get to 50 and wish I’d been a mum but I think if I don’t, I’ll still be happy. I’ll just be crazy Auntie Lisa to everyone’s kids.

I love how candid she is. I know there was a time when a woman was thought of as a freak or frigid because she didn’t want to have a baby. Frankly, while I know there are a lot of women out there who *knew* they always wanted to be moms, for many of us out there, there is also some ambivalence. (Myself included!)
