Gwyneth on Moses and Apple’s playtime
As a big sister, Apple Martin is the boss of little brother Moses — especially when it comes to games like dress-up. Mom Gwyneth Paltrow, 35, tells People.com, "She makes [Moses, 2] cross-dress, but she doesn’t put makeup on him!"
Four-year-old Apple seems to already be following in her mother’s fashionable footsteps. "My daughter plays with anything that’s girly. She loves makeup,"Gwyneth shared. "She puts on the eye shadow and my high heels. She likes to take mytank tops and make them a dress. And then she asks me to tie a rubberband on the back so they stay up."
The one thing Apple can’t touch? Mom’s signature fragrance, Estée Lauder’s Pleasures. "I don’t like her to spray perfume on herself because she’s so little," says Gwyneth, "but she likes to spray it on me."

Sounds like Apple’s found a way to get even with Moses for thrashing her dollhouses! Some boys don’t mind getting girlie at all, though. I remember my friend and I painting the nails of our 5-year-old neighbor only to have her twin brother demand we paint his nails too!

OH I remember doing that to my little brothers. I was surprised at how easy it was. I think all boys want to know what its like to be a girl. LOL.
I think its nice that Gwyneth lets Apple play dress up with make up and her shoes. Those are some of my best memories with my mother.

I wonder how she’s decided to draw the line between make-up and perfume? In my house it was the other way round – we were allowed a little spritz of whatever Mum was putting on but no playing with make-up.

Makeup can be easily wiped off if Apple is going to be leaving the house; perfume removal often requires a bath. Also, kids playing with makeup tend to overdo it and I would imagine it would be the same case with perfume. If Gwyneth or any of her friends or family had allergies or chemical sensitivities, a four year old’s perfume-fest might trigger a bad reaction.

Aww, that sounds so sweet. I’m wondering if my five year old niece dresses up my 17 month old nephew in dresses. *lol*
