I’m not getting the whole we’re engaged but not getting married. If you’re engaged, then you should be ready and willing to get married tomorrow. To me, that’s what getting engaged means…You’re ready to get married!

hate to admit it bc i’m not really a big fan, but that’s a cute picture of them. i don’t get the engaged thing either? although in thinking about it, since i usually argue that you should get married if you want, not get married if you don’t want to, etc… then i suppose if you only want to be engaged – so be it maybe she just wanted a ring but decided they didn’t need paperwork. never a bad reason for wanting diamonds

So why get engaged? Plenty of unmarried couples raise children now. And if we’re getting technical, “engaged” is short for “engaged to be married.” But to each their own, I suppose.

I agree jillyen. I’m not sure what she means by that comment. Being married, that I can understand but just putting a ring on someones finger? I also don’t understand why people use the excuse of being “to busy” to plan a wedding. If you don’t want to get married then just say that. Don’t make excuses for why you “cant”.
