Poppy Montgomery Wants Son to Know “He is Loved”
Motherhood has only enhanced Poppy Montgomery’s relationship with Adam Kaufman, the 36-year-old actress says in a new interview with TV Guide. Seeing "how great a father he is" to their 6 ½-month-old son Jackson Phillip Deveraux only makes her "love Adam more." Poppy says. She adds,
You realize that you’re linked together for life. No matter what, you share a child.
Having a baby hasn’t made the couple dash to the altar, however. Poppy notes that "for Jackson it might be important at some stage that we get married," but "there is no rush." For now, Poppy says she’s happy to concentrate on imparting to Jackson some of the lessons she learned from her own parents, with whom she credits for teaching her "fearlessness," among other things.
They taught me about love, about work, about everything. My main concern is for him to know that he is loved.
Speaking of work, Poppy has returned to the set of Without A Trace, and admits that the transition was tough, noting "I didn’t realize how hard it would be to leave (Jackson), even for a minute." It hasn’t been the only surprise of motherhood, however. She adds,
I also didn’t realize how much fun it would be. I thought it would be a lot of hard work, which it is. But it is also really fun.
