Gabriel Soto and Geraldine Bazan Expecting First Child

During a press junket last Thursday, Mexican actor Gabriel Soto and his girlfriend, actress Geraldine Bazán, announced they are expecting their first child in February. Calling the pregnancy "the biggest news that can exist," the couple said they are elated about becoming parents for the first time, and see their baby as a "product of the love we have for each other."

Geraldine revealed to the press that while on location for her telenovela Victoria, she "sensed" that she needed to visit the doctor, and upon doing so, discovered the big news. After her suspicions were confirmed, the actress "as a woman, took some time" for everything to sink in until she was ready to make the big call to Gabriel.

While Geraldine is only around nine weeks pregnant, the couple have already decided on names for their baby — Maximiliano or Dios del Viento "in some language" if it’s a boy, and Elisa if it’s a girl, after Gabriel’s late mother.

They moved fast with the names! I’m due the week or so before her and my husband and I are nowhere set on names haha. I don’t think we’ll agree till the baby is actually in our arms.

Aww…I remember Gabriel when he was in a musical group named Kairo. Anyway, thought I would provide the translation of that second name option for a boy. “Dios del Viento” is Wind God. I must say, my culture can have some unusual names sometimes, but this is one I have never heard of being used. Very interesting.
