"I was too emotional [when I was pregnant]. I cried at the drop of a hat. It’s Hallmark commercials, it’s anything you could possibly imagine. Not even Hallmark. It’s a coffee commercial, and they pick up [the cup of coffee] and I’d go [crying] ‘Ooooh, it’s coffee!’"

Bindi Irwin Says She Lives For Today

Bindi The preschooler approach to life is one that Bindi Irwin admires. In a new interview with The Courier-Mail, Bindi says that her 4 ½-year-old brother Robert ‘Bob’ Clarence’s ability to "live one day at a time" and not worry "about what will happen in the future" is something she finds refreshing. "He just likes to play with his chickens and revels in the moment," Bindi says, "which is a good way to be."  She adds,

People are always worrying about what might happen tomorrow when it’s what happens today that counts.

As she approaches her 10th birthday on Thursday, Bindi can barely contain her enthusiasm. She tells the newspaper "double digits means double the fun which is so exciting." Another thing Bindi clearly finds exciting is wildlife conservation, and she says she’s happy to use her celebrity status as the daughter of the late Steve Irwin to draw attention to the cause. Says Bindi,

Being well known is a way of getting the conservation message out, which is really nice.

Bindi and Bob’s mom is Terri Irwin, 44.

Thought of Steve about a week ago. Had the chance to snorkel in the Caribbean and my husband encountered a sting ray which swam up and under him. Such a tragic freak accident that happened to Steve Irwin. Glad his girls are doing fine!

  11. phoebe Says:

She’s such a lovely little girl, and so very mature for her few short years. It’s so wonderful to see that she is carrying on her father’s work and setting such an example for other children. My only (slight) concern is that I hope she is encouraged to be a normal child who plays with toys and other little ones as well. I love this sweet girl and this family, I just wouldn’t like to see her regretting not being a child while she still was one.

  12. Cherise Says:

I’m always amazed at how wise she is for her young age! She sets a very good example, even for us grown ups! What a smart and sweet girl.
