John C. Reilly Loves “Every Minute” with His Kids
In the new comedy Step Brothers, John C. Reilly plays a middle-aged man still living with his parents. John says that he’d be happy to maintain such an arrangement with his own two children with wife Allison Dickey because he "dreads the day when they leave the house." "Maybe there will come a time when I’ll get tired of them," the 43-year-old actor tells Parade, "But I really depend on my kids for company." He adds,
I love every minute of being with them.
To help prepare for the role of an "overgrown kid" John says he looked no further than his sons, ages 9 ½ and 7 ½; observing them "losing it when they didn’t get something they wanted, or fighting with each other" gave him plenty of material to work with. "I would watch them for a little while until it got so annoying I’d have to make them stop. But I picked up a few things," John says.
John and Allison have been married since 1992.
