Brooke Burns’ Daughter Madison is a Hip Kid
Stepping out in a stylish new haircut, Madison Elizabeth McMahon, 8, went shopping with mom Brooke Burns at Malibu Mart on Thursday. Brooke, 30, most recently appeared on Miss Guided, while Madison’s dad Julian McMahon stars on Nip/Tuck.

She looks cute with her new haircut, looks boy-ish but still suits her!
I can’t believe she’s so big now!

Simply one of the coolest 8 year old I’ve ever seen. That girl will be a well paid model some day.
July 25th, 2008 at 10:54 am
Hmmm. Not keen on the hair, but it’s good that her parents allowed her to choose I guess. Pretty girl otherwise.

Wow! Haven’t seen a pixie cut since the early 70s. I’ve always loved that cut on little girls… so cute!

good for her for trying something different. very cute!
….and its not like it doesnt grow back!

She is such a beautiful girl! The hair is ok (don’t think I would care for my daughter to do that)It does seem a bit boyish. On the other hand I really dislike the outfit. Maybe if she had a different outfit, the hair would look better.

I LOVE her little short haircut! Its very cute on her. I think she is a great mix of Brooke and Julian (yummy daddy)!!

Too cute! I always had short hair as a young girl ans still do to this day. I think it’s just adorable.

shes really beautiful!& i love her hair!
July 25th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
I didn’t realize she was with Julian, a favorite of mine, yum! Their daughter is so chic!
July 25th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
Julian & Brooke have nothing but good things to say about each other, and I think that’s terrific. When she appeared on Chelsea Lately, Brooke talked about how Julian had helped her so much when she broke her neck. Both of them seem to have Madison’s best interest at heart — and that makes Julian even more yummy!

I had hair similar to that at that age, mine wasn’t as stylish mostly because my hair is curly and didn’t get the cool spiky-ness, but I now have about three feet of hair!
July 25th, 2008 at 12:24 pm
omg. i seriously thought that was a boy in girls clothes. that hair looks horrendous. i cannot believe gorgeous brooke would let her daughter do that. grow back, quick!
July 25th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
I couldn’t disagree with everyone more! Between the hair and the outfit…she looks like an 8 year old street walker!
July 25th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
Not crazy about the haircut, a bit too boyish for me. But madsion and brooke are cute

3 words: Fast! Fast! Fast!

I’m a huge Nip/Tuck fan so it’s great to see pictures of Madison. I can’t believe she’s 8 already! I definitely think she looks like Julian in the eyes with Brooke’s mouth.

Who said that girls must have long hair and boys must have short hair? It’s like “girl shouldn’t wear blue clothes” or even “women shouldn’t work”.
This girl is very pretty, she would look cute in any haircut! It show that she have strng personality.
The most cool thing about hair is that it grows!

What a cute hairstyle and outfit! I like it because you can just tell Madison is so confident with the short hair. I think it’s great when parents don’t hold their children to our sometimes extremely strict gender norms (for all my gripes about the makeup and bikinis on Cindy Crawford’s daughter, I respect how they’ve got no problem with allowing their son to keep his hair as long as he wants!)

not really so keeen on her hair style; a little too grown up and mature for a cute little eight year old. she seems a decent kid and she’s being bought up out of the public eye so two thumbs up to that!
July 25th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
The haircut is way cute! To me, it’s the outfit that’s a bit meh……
Anyway, I love short cuts on girls….kinda tired of seeing the long hair style all the time….gets old. Plus hair does grow back, which makes it fun to change up the look sometimes!

I had hair that short at about that age, too… but in a wedge…. I love short hair, but I do think whoever cut it made it a little TOO boyish… there are techniques to do it and still make it clear the child is a girl.
BUT… when it starts getting shaggy, that can be fixed.
Brave mom and dad letting her go that short. I hope my daughter NEVER (since she cut her own hair several months back and it had to go short to even it) wants her hair that short. My boys are short hair fanatics… I want someone with pretty hair that I can play with!

I do find this a little bit strange that we’re allowed to comment on Madison’s short hair, but not Celine Dion’s son’s long hair….like I said, I’m not a fan of the boy cut for little girls (not so bad when they’re older), but it’s nice that mum and dad are not stuck in their ways about what’s right for girls and boys.

A haircut does not automatically confuse a person regarding gender orientation. Same goes for little boys wanting to wear dresses and little girls having a car as their favourite toy. Let them! When a little boy plays dress up in a dress it does not mean he will turn out gay and an 8 year old girl with short hair do not necessarily identify herself as a boy. Stop with all this nonsense mumbo jumbo people! Stop judging our kids and stop trying to keep them in the, what, 1850’s.
So what if her haircut is typically “boyish”? That does not make her any less of a person (child!), it does not mean she’s confused and it certainly does not mean she’s a boy.
I’m all for gender transcending. We don’t NEED these stupid labels. The only thing those gender labels do is limit us and our kids.

She is a very tall and pretty girl! That haircut is not my favorite, but its not my hair kwim. I’m surprised that I never see pictures of Madison with her dad (who is super hot). Madison is very tomboyish in that pic.

What a cutie!!!
Yay!!
My daughter is going to be 4 years old soon and I keep thinking I’m going to go to bed one night and will wake up and she will be a big independant 8 year old!
It’s really nice to see that other moms encourage their children to be and look like who they want to look like

Madison’s a really beautiful girl. She looks a lot her daddy Julian McMahon. There are tons of sites with pics of him with Madison. All his co-stars from Sandra Bullock to Jessica Alba, Alyssa Milano to Nip/Tuck’s cast say he’s an amazing father. Brooke says Madison loves him like crazy.

The whole look is far too grown up for me. The hair is not one for a litle girl and certainly that outfit isn’t either. Leopard leggings are too tarty.
I Have been a fan of Julian 15 years and he seems a great father, and I’m sure they are raising her well but I have always thought she is dressed up way beyond her years. But it’s not just them, alot of parents seem to do it now as well.

For 8 years old, she is not properly dressed nor is her hair for an 8 year old – 16 year old maybe – trying to make little kids grow up too fast. Let them be kids and look like kids. They only get one childhood for life.

I love Julian (hes so hot n talented) and i think his n Brook’s daughter is just growing into her own style which is way cool, also don’t forget where she’s being brought up; LA is gonna get her into fashiony stuff. I think its great she’s got confidence to look how she wants and be a hip kid (as the tittle to this pic states)- right on! :p
