Gillian Anderson Not Motivated to Work Out While Pregnant
While some celebrity moms exercise well into their third trimesters, don’t count Gillian Anderson among them. The 39-year-old actress says there’s a "lazy" part of her that wonders "’what’s the point in working out until I have the baby? … Then we’ll actually do something!" She adds,
I know that’s not necessarily the right way to look at it, but that’s just me.
While she’s not craving anything specific — from the sound of things — Gillian isn’t suffering from any food aversions, either. She says,
The only thing I do when I’m pregnant is eat and sit on my butt!
Baby-on-the-way, a boy due in October, will be the second child for Gillian and her boyfriend Mark Griffiths. He’ll join big sister Piper Maru, 13, and big brother Oscar, 20 ½-months, at home.

That should get her some “I am just going to get fat” headlines during her pregnancy and “I found it hard to shift the baby weight” whiny headlines after she gives birth.

It is quite hard to find motivation to to get up and moving when you have all that extra weight on your feet.
While pregnant I had to FORCE myself to go on a walk every day, and that really helped.
Another big problem with pregnancy and energy levels is anemia, low iron, which I struggled with in my own pregnancy.
When you find the right iron supplement for you (I had to go though 3 different types before I did) — you feel so much better.

It’s fine not to work out while pregnant. You should continue you day-to-day routine and if that didn’t involve working out, then so be it.
BTW this isn’t her first child sleekraven, so I’m sure she’ll be just fine to loose the baby weight, and I found your comment to be a bit brash. I know we’re all entitled to our opinions I just found your to be a rude one.

I like that someone in the limelight isn’t going bonkers about working out. Pregnancy is very tiring and it’s a lot of hard work. I didn’t care about my weight because all that matters was that my baby was healthy. I started walking in my third trimester, and now, 10 weeks post partum, I’ve lost 42 of the 50 pounds I gained.
I’m glad some celebrities are “normal”

I felt the same way during my pregnacy. As long as you are eating right, getting the proper rest and doing what you should for a healthly baby it works out. I lost the weight right away.
And I love that her name is spelled with a “G” instead of a “J”. Some people think that the “G” is made up & new when it is the original spelling.

Gillian, isn’t one to complain about losing weight, she has 2 children and losing the baby weight doesn’t seem hard for her to do. It is obvious that she sets her mind to certain things. Plus with this pregnancy it doesn’t look like she has even gained that much weight, but when running after an almost 2 year old and caring for a teen, what more energy does one need?
I guess it throw people off when celebrities don’t complain so they(sleekraven) complain for them.

I don’t get the point of your comment, sleekraven. I found it quite rude, though.
And I LOVE Gillian, now! Haha, I can so identify with her – although I’ve never been pregnant and am not now. I think I’ll be using that excuse then since it takes everything in me to exercise now!

She’s radiant. I always loved X Files and plan to see her new movie. I also think it’s great that she is normal, just eats and takes it easy during pregnancy. I did the same – 3 times.
