With Another Daughter on the Way, Matt Damon is “So Outnumbered”
Revealing their second child, who is "due soon" — Moseley World says August 16th — is another girl, Matt Damon says between the new addition, his wife Luciana, and daughters Alexia, 9, from Luciana’s first marriage, and Isabella, 2, he is "so outnumbered…it’s crazy!" While the couple decided to find out the sex of their baby, the 37-year-old shares that they are in no rush to choose a name, and in fact will "wait till she’s born" to make the decision. After the birth, Matt says the pair plan on getting "a good look at her and will probably keep debating it!"
While Matt will take "the rest of the year off" to spend time "hanging out with my family," the actor continues to work hard for the upcoming U.S. launch of the charity group, One X One on October 23. The actor’s involvement with the charity, which is "about helping kids," is a result of a passion ignited when he became a father. Matt — who says "it’s hard not to look at every child as somehow connected to you" — went on to say "it’s not like before I was a father I was like, ‘The hell with those kids.’ But something does shift when you have a child of your own."

I love the names Alexia and Isabella so I am sure whatever name they pick will be just as beautiful. Q. If this baby is their 2nd, who is Alexia’s mother?

My husband and I had a few names picked out before our little boy was born. We had one that we loved though and decided to name him that. Im not sure if looking at him would have made the difference!

We always go to the hospital with a list of names and choose the one that fits. It took us less than one hour to pick our son’s name and 6 hours to name our daughter. Now I couldn’t imagine them with any other names.

I was hoping they would be blessed with a boy this time around. We have 2 daughters as well, both 9 and 2 also, and are expecting another in March and hoping for a boy this time. As for names, we had a few picked out but waited till the baby was born to see which name “she” looked like. We will do the same with this one.

We had ours all picked out before hand. Natalie Gail. We loved Natalie and both of our moms’ names (my mom’s first and my hubby’s mom’s middle name) were Gail so we got both Grandma’s in one shot!
My boss couldn’t believe we had the name all picked before she was born, she is a believer that you have to see them to name them. Heck, we had it picked out before we knew the gender (She would have been Trenton “Trent” Alexander if she was a boy). I think, like someone mentioned above, if you have your heart set on a name, it doesn’t matter what the baby looks like, they will all of a sudden look like a baby with that name! 
I just never looked at a baby and said she looks like a ….. or he looks like a ….”. When we are adults I think different names fit people better than others but not as babies. That is my opinion at least. My sister on the other hand had no ideas of names when she had her delivery suprise babies (all 3) and waited to find the perfect name. It took her 2 weeks to name her daughter and 1 week for her other too. To each their own…:)
I was really hoping he was having a boy too, but I am sure he will love another little girl. Maybe next time they will get their little boy.

Because my husband and I debated for a LONG time on names (almost nine months) we chose one before each birth. I didn’t want the added stress of trying to come up with names after the babies were born because my and my husband’s ideas of beautiful names were so different; I didn’t want to be bickering in the midst of the blessed event. So, we had a girl’s name and a boy’s name picked out in advance each time (we have three children) and the names seem to fit each of them just fine.

I chose my oldest daughter’s name ten years before I had her. My second daughter was a few weeks shy of being born before we came up with something for her (which she now hates!), our son’s name was an old family name and chosen ahead of time and our last child’s name was the girl name we had chosen when we were pregnant with our son….I kept saying it felt like someone was missing, and I knew before I even got pregnant that I’d have a girl that last time!

With our first two children (4.5 and 2 years) we found out the sex at the 20 week ultrasound and picked their names (August and Martha) almost immediately…and they fit them to a tee! And now we’re expecting another girl (who we’ve named Hazel) and know it will fit her too! Can’t wait to meet her in a couple of months!

With my son, we knew his middle name right away (named for his late grandpa) and we had a list of 3 potential first names. When my hubby went out to tell everyone that he was born he asked me what his first name should be, so I got to pick the one I liked best. As for my daughter, it was a bit tougher coming up with a girl’s name we both liked, but luckily we agreed on one before she was born but we didn’t tell anyone until she was born what the name was.

I’ve had the middle names for a daughter (they’ll be hyphenated) picked out since middle school and the middle name for a son picked out for a couple of years. Luckily my husband was OK with both of those haha. We have a list of about 10 girl names and 10 boy names that *hopefully* we’ll shorten before I deliver the baby, but we won’t pick out a first name for sure until we see him/her. We want to try out a few first.

I had my daughter’s named picked out early in my pregnancy & am so happy with it. It just fits her perfectly. I am now due with a boy & although we keep picking a name, we keep changing it too! I guess we’ll see when he gets here.

With my first child (a boy), my husband and I were itn Thailand a couple of months before I got pregnant and heard the name. I said if we ever have a baby I would love to name it that. Then one missed b.c. pill later…voila. With our daughter (now 11 months old) we picked the first name Poppy at aout 6 months into pregnancy. She came out and has red hair!!! My husband is from Ireland with brown hair and I am from U.S with blond hair (strawberry blond at birth though). It is strange how names work themselves into lives. On the “all babies are a blessing” comment, I agree but soooo badly wanted a girl the second time because we knew we only wanted 2 children and I have always wanted one of each sex. Just my preference.

My first daughter’s name was easy. We used all family names. Now that we are expecting another girl, we have narrowed it down to four names, and we are trying them out. I hope to have the name completely settled before she is born.

We had no idea what to name our first daughter, and knew that she was a Jenna the first time we met her. With our son, we had a name picked out for Jenna if she was a boy, and ended up not going with it, because we didn’t really like it anymore, and we eventually settled on Joshua. With #3, we picked out Olivia at about 20 weeks in the pregnancy, but didn’t tell anyone what we were naming her until she was 2 or 3 days old.

My son’s middle name we knew as soon as we found out he was a boy, because we named him after my husband’s father. His first name we had it narrowed down to two, and we waited until we saw him to decide on which one.

We had our sons’ names and middle names picked before they were born, and our daughter’s name but didn’t settled on a middle name for her for a couple of days after she arrived!
Matt better be prepared for some serious hormones in the years to come, hee hee! My Dad was surrounded by females too, and although he’d have liked a boy he had his place as the most important man in all of our lives (at that time!) and now he has two Grandsons to take to the football!

We had our daughter’s name picked out beforehand. Her name was unusual for the time, and since she was such a dark-haired exotic little baby, we always felt it fit her.

We had both of our daughters’ names picked out before they were born. With our first, we couldn’t come up with a name that “fit” her. She was a very active in utero baby and had such a distinctive personality. I know it sounds weird, but she has the same exact personality now as a 7-year old. We came up with her name about 2 weeks before she was born. As soon as we said it, we knew that she would fit that name to a “T.” With our second, we named her very early in the pregnancy, before we even found out the sex. As soon as she was born, however, I had second thoughts and felt she looked more like and Elizabeth than a Lily. I was upset for the first couple of weeks. Then, one day, she got this look on her face, and knew we had the perfect name for her. I have never regretted it since.

I’m like 10 years away from having kids I think but I have always liked certain names. Samantha for a girl and a few years ago my mother mentioned that she always thought my grandpa (my dad’s dad) wanted one of the grandkids after him and I decided then I really liked the name William. A lot can change between then and now though.

I’m probably about 10 years away from having kids also, but recently I’ve started to love the name Audrey for a little girl. It has such an old fashioned sweetness to it. Audrey Grace will be what I’ll name my daughter (when I eventually have her). As for boys, I’ve always loved Nathaniel (shortened to Nate). It’s weird, I never thought I would be one to like old fashioned names.

I had a name picked out for my daughter (Caitlin Brooke) but once she was born she didn’t look like a Caitlin or a Brooke so I went with a totally different name ….. I kindof agree that u have to see them in order to know if it’s the right name for them ……. Congratulations to the happy family and maybe a son next time Matt.
That is if there is a next time ….. if not I’m sure he’ll be happy with his daughter’s.

I heard about too many people who had a name picked out, then decided the name just didn’t “fit” after seeing the child. I am not one of those people who had their heart set on a name since I was 10, I don’t do family names and I went crazy with the SSA list trying to make sure the names I considered were not overly popular (I decided to not consider anything over #500 to give my daughter a shot at not having to be one of many her entire life like I experienced)
we took 3 names with us to the hospital, narrowed it down to 2 as soon as we saw her, and picked one about 18 hours after our daughter was born. In all honesty, the 2 names both would have fit her, but we had to pick just one. I really went back and forth for almost a month over whether I had picked the best of the 2.
In the end, I think the way we did it worked well for us. Since I was so picky, 3 names to take to the hospital took an entire 9 months (and yes, we did find out she was a girl at the ultrasound – no way could I have come up with a short list for BOTH genders!), and I liked seeing her and figuring out what name “fit”

i’m glad that matthew and luciana are having a little baby girl i hope they continue to make many more girls so he can really be out numbered but if they do decide to have a boy hope that they name him matthew paige damon,jr instead of him being named after him hope it is something better than peanut like ingo named his son what the hell kind of name is that to give a person hello he is a person not a food congratulations on your baby girl matthew have fun on your break and can’t wait to see the informant don’t lose to much weight you need to keep some on you and not go to skin and bones

Why are so many of you implying that Matt really wanted a son this time around? Some of the comments even seem to imply that he’s dissapointed about having another daughter! Not all men are desperate for, or even want, a son! Brad Pitt, for example, said awhile back (when he was married to Jennifer Aniston, I believe) that he wanted “a house full of girls”. Around that same time, he also apparently made a comment about “wanting five girls” or something like that.
Naturally Brad loves Mad, Pax, and Knox just as much as he loves Zee, Shi, and Vivienne, but from the sounds of it, if he had ended up with all girls, he wouldn’t have minded a bit!
For all we know, Matt also won’t mind if he ends up with all girls.
Why do so many of you seem to think that Matt’s family won’t be complete without a son?
