Kirstie Allsopp Likes to Splurge on Her Kids
British TV host Kirstie Allsopp has a passion for renovating residential property, and has translated that passion into financial security for her family with partner Ben Andersen. Despite being disciplined spenders, however, the couple does like to splurge on their children — Ben’s sons Orian, 8, and Hal, 5, as well as their son together, 2-year-old Bay Atlas, and the baby they expect in August. Says Kirstie,
My money weakness would definitely be children’s clothes. The family weakness is holidays. We probably are a bit silly when it comes to the children in that respect.
Kirstie, 36, went on to say that as her children become older she will be "incredibly tough about making them work," adding "it is set in stone."

Oh I’m looking forward to Kirstie having this next child – Congrats to the whole family!
What did I and do I like to splurge on with the family? Family vacations to Disneyland (California) and Walt Disney World (Florida).

We splurge on organic milk and butter, fruits and veggies, and also on sneakers.

I can’t resist buying them clothes (but they grow like freaking weeds, so it is not so much a splurge, but a necessity). We also go out to eat way more than we should, but I am usually so exhausted by the end of the day, that I would prefer to have someone wait on me, than the other way around. We have found that taking the kids to exotic restaurants help expand their horizons. My kids will eat Japanese, but not PB&J.
