“When the pain hit the roof, I had the thought that in a matter of moments I was going to be sitting and holding my baby with a big fat smile on my face - a thought that seemed ridiculous to me at the time but I knew it was true. And there we were, moments later.”

John Leguizamo Takes on the Role of “Life Coach”

Tags: Dads, Parenting

John_leguizamoAs an actor John Leguizamo has had to deal with emergency situations as a doctor in ER, the end of the world in The Happening, and taking on the voice of a ground sloth in Ice Age, but none of those roles come close to the every day challenges of being "the morale coach" to his kids.  On being a father to his two kids — daughter Allegra Sky, 8, and son Ryder Lee, 7 — John considers himself their "life coach," as he compares himself to the coach of a team, explaining, "You gotta keep everybody going, motivated." And for John, being the head of the family, it is "up to you, the dad, to make that happen."

Allegra and Ryder’s mother is John’s wife, Justine Maurer.
