"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

Lisa Marie Presley Wants Media to “Go Ahead and Look”

Tags: Moms-to-be

As an expectant mom to fraternal twins, Lisa Marie Presley took a lot of heat from the tabloids as they speculated on her weight gain prior to her pregnancy confirmation. When it was safe to release the information, Lisa Marie fired back, and has yet again in the September issue of Marie Claire. Posing in lingerie and a leopard-print jacket, Elvis‘ daughter says, "I am not going to let them control me. I just let it all hang out. You want to look at me? Go ahead and look."

I am 5′3". If I gain five pounds it shows. I am trying to grow another human being. Besides, I’m 40! I’m lucky to even be able to do this.

Lisa Marie and husband Michael Lockwood expect their twins this fall. Click here to see one of the other magazine photos.

You go girl! She has the right attitude. The stuff said about her was so rude.

  2. Tegan Says:

    GO LISA MARIE!

THe paps had no right to say all those things, but sadly, even sometimes after a pregnancy announcement, if your not skinny the paps still right that said person is fat.

Oh, I forgot to say this earlier, CONGRATS!!

  3. tink1217 Says:

I probably looked like I was having twins when I was pregnant with my son…he was 10 pounds and I am 5′2″!! I love Lisa Marie and can’t wait to see her new additions!

  4. Sheena Says:

Bare all? In Marie Claire? I’m sorry but those pictures undoubtedly look nothing like her. Magazines crop off pounds and cover up any flaws that are less then perfect. I’m not saying Lisa Marie is fat or ugly. In fact I think she is absolutely gorgeous, but I think its an exaggeration of the truth when she says shes baring it all. If she really wanted to do bare it all, she would take pictures of herself and put them on the internet, not have a glamourous photoshoot with computer editing.

  5. JK Says:

I’m sure there will be a lot of posts here. First of all, Congratulations to Lisa Marie. What a blessing to be having a baby…let alone 2 at the same time. Unfortunately, the paps are idiots..we all know that. There isn’t one drop of respect that comes from them, that’s why they’re the paparazzi. Lisa looks just fine, she’s pregnant for crying out loud and she has the right attitude. Her comment is great and really, we all can’t be Nicole Kidman and be 25 feet tall so that if we’re carrying even sextuplets, you can’t tell. You Rock Lisa Marie!

  6. Di Says:

I find it odd how so many female celebrities feel the need to expose themselves in magazines by appearing nude while pregnant. Britney and Christina did it while they were pregnant. If I were Lisa Marie I would worry less about what the media thinks about me and more about what my family and friends think because their opinions matter.

It seems like a lot of celebrities spend way too much time reading the gossip mags and the blogs on the internet and then they get upset. If you have ever watched Denise Richards or Dina Lohan’s show these women spend their time reading the negative comments about that.
On a side note, I do not know why Lisa Marie was upset in the first place. It was obvious she had gained weight and so people assumed that she was eating too much as opposed to being pregnant.

I do not see how she can get mad when a magazine makes an observation and comments on her weight after all she is a public figure.
Lisa Marie should feel no need to explain her weight and appearance to anybody and by doing this photoshoot she is just giving the magazines and the bloggers more power instead of just ignoring them which is what I would do and focus on the people whose opinions really matter.

  7. MMM Says:

Don’t say that you are going to let it all hang out if you are going to be photoshopped until nearly becoming unrecognizable.

  8. Sasha, USA Says:

    Wow! Va voom!

  9. Erin Says:

I cannot wait for this issue of MC. I truly love, admire and respect Lisa Marie – her music is amazing and her personality outstanding. Can’t get enough of her and cannot wait for the babies to make their debuts! ♥

  10. J Says:

I am a fan of Lisa Marie and have been for a long time. That photoshoot has had some photoshopping but not as much as you may think. What some of you don’t seem to understand is that the media are only going to MOSTLY show the bad photos taken. I have seen other recent candids of her which no publications have published thus far where she is just all belly, not an ounce of fat anywhere else. I do not think those photos have been photoshopped to make her look slimmer.

  11. lizzielui Says:

Except it wasn’t that people had noticed that she had gained weight. The tabloids were flat out rude and disgusting in their references to her and she had a right to be angry and hurt. Afterall, as far as celebs and public figures go you rarely see Lisa Marie. So I am sure she was shocked when her pic appeared on the covers of magazines that were calling her a whale and a pig. That nastiness is uncalled and I am sure any one of us would be just as hurt if it were us in the same situation, celeb or not. It’s easy for people who are on the outside looking in to say that others should not pay attention to people who scrutinize them and call them names. It’s not you who is being personally attacked or made fun of (on a national level nontheless) so how anyone possibly say, “so and so should just ignore them.” Lisa is entitled to feel whatever she felt during that time and respond to it however she sees fit. Afterall, she was out minding her own business, having lunch with her family, when the first pics of her four months into her pregnancy were taken. After that, the firestorm erupted.

  12. Gigi Says:

so she was edited for a photoshoot in a magazine!!!!! who cares.
lisa marie has had many many MANY unflattering photos surface on the internet and in other magazines so i definately am not surprised by her carefree attitude.
i, for one, think that since she has married this man she has been more beautiful than ever. you can tell she is really happy in her life right now……and thats what matters……not her weight, size, shape, or form.

  13. tink1217 Says:

lizzielui and gigi, very well said!!

  14. Molly Says:

Di, your post is mean. No women should be told she is fat and speculate if she’s pregnant or really just fat. If she only gained some pounds, its still mean to point at it (most often there is a reason) and people like you lead to all kind of eating disorders in young girls who feel the pressure to stay thin.

It’s absolutely natural to get upset over comments like this and yours.

  15. Lelsie Says:

“I’m 5′3″. If I gain 5 pounds, it shows.” Boy do I know how she feels! And what she said is the truth. I’m only 5′1″, so there ya go. Congrats to Lisa Marie and Michael! I hope the twins are born big and healthy.

  16. Elyse Says:

Ha, I’m 5′3 as well and I have to agree every little pound shows. I personally don’t care about whatever others think of my weight, but I must say it will be interesting to see what I look like when I am pregnant! I put on weight fast as well so I think it will be quite the experiment! ;)

I think Lisa looks stunning! Good for her for standing up for her self, when I saw those tabloids I was appaled. I am always stunned how insensitive, rude, and cruel the media can be (and I think it all comes down to money.) I am such an honest and caring person it is really hard for me to rap my head around people being this way. I think Lisa should be able to do whatever the he– she wants at this point! She certainly deserves it. Maybe this shoot made her feel empowered and beautiful. Doesn’t every woman deserve that?

  17. tink1217 Says:

well said Molly and exactly what I was thinking also!

  18. jasmine Says:

Go Lisa Marie! You tell ‘em! =]

  19. Stephany Says:

    Lizzielu and Molly, well put!

I’m not the biggest fan of Lisa Marie Presley but the way the tabloids treated her earlier in her pregnancy was disgusting. So I’m happy she did the photoshoot (whoppee, she was photoshopped. Newsflash: everybody is!). It was something she felt she needed to do and I am proud of her for doing it.

Good for you, Lisa. I hope the rest of her pregnancy is smooth sailing and she delivers to beautiful, chunky babies!

  20. AP Says:

I know photoshop is very often used, but I wish people wouldn’t jump to conclusions so quickly. I am a photographer, and by using the right light, the right settings and poses you can eliminate the need for the photoshopping that people often think is done.

The angle is complimentary to the lower portion of her body because it is further in the background. The photographer used a large aperture, making anything not in the immediate foreground out of focus. This blurs the skin, and creates the illusion of very creamy, perfect, smooth skin. Small things may have been edited out, but you can’t always assume someone has been terribly photoshopped. :)

  21. Lauren Says:

this is a beautiful picture :)

  22. Silvermouse Says:

I don’t care if the photos are photoshoped. . Di, why shouldn’t celebrities pose nude when they’re pregnant. . . after all pregnancy is a beautiful thing. And I would be pissed too if I was called fat.

  23. Laura Says:

Photoshopped or not, I think they are beautiful pictures!! Good for her!

  24. angela Says:

Give me a break with the pity party. She’s playing the victim AGAIN.

  25. Renee Says:

Beautiful picture. Don’t see why it’s a big issue. How would she lose respect of her friends and families because of these pictures? They are beautifully done and she looks great.

  26. Kristin Says:

I think she looks great. Every pcture I have seen her in she has clothes that look way to big which will make you look big. I think if people saw her in clothes that were more fitting we would see mostly what is in that picture. I know that if I wear lose clothes I like 30 lbs bigger then I really am. I think some photoshop was done but we never see her in clothes that are not huge and baggie.

  27. phoebe Says:

She looks very beautiful in all the pregnancy photos I have seen of her and I love her philisophy on the whole thing.

  28. CaliAngel Says:

I think she looks absolutely beautiful in these pictures. Can’t wait to see the babies.

  29. LaMama Says:

Back when all that media garbage about Lisa’s weight came out, she was at that in-between stage where you don’t look pregnant yet, but your body doesn’t like it did before being pregnant either. I remember that time all too well during each of my pregnancies. I remember feeling kind of awkward.

Since Lisa was still keeping the pregnancy news to herself, the paps jumped to their own conclusions – anything to sell a story. It was rude and uncalled for. I wish everyone would just leave her alone.

Society puts way too much pressure on celebrities to be skinny, which then filters down to us regular people and to our daughters. Everywhere we go, we are bombarded with images that try to tell us what beauty is. In my opinion, beauty can be defined in many ways. I wish the women of the world would put their feet down and not fall victim to the “only one size is beautiful” crap.

I think Lisa Marie is beautiful no matter what her size, pregnant or not. I’m thrilled that she has been blessed with these twins and wish her and her family all the happiness in the world.

  30. Colleen Says:

Hey, I think she looks great!!! And she has such a great attitude!!

And to those of you guys that are whining about her being photoshopped, do you have 100% concrete proof she was? No. Didn’t think so. If she was, big deal! How many of you have had glamour shots pictures or photoshopped yourself, ya know?

Anyhow, you go Lisa Marie!!! Don’t worry about the tabloids, You look amazing!!

  31. Kae Says:

Photoshopped or not, I think she looks great in both pictures. I’d love to look that good while pregnant, and I’m sure everyone else would say the same.

  32. brooke Says:

I always liked lisa and the presley family, so congrats to to her on having 2 more babies, how lovely. The whole posing with the pregnant belly out is played out in my opinion and i’m not that crazy about the pics, but to each is own and good look to her.

  33. OC Mommie Says:

Oh, for cripes sake — who CARES what a tabloid or anyone else thinks! Who cares if she gains weight! She is healthy and is making sure her babies are healthy. That is all that matters. It’s so unhealthy how so many Hollywood shallow types are gaining only 5 lbs during pregnancy these days. Shameful.

  34. hissy Says:

Would love to spend some time with her

  35. Andrea Says:

I see some MAJOR airbrushing going on. She wishes she looked that good.

  36. Caz Says:

I have been a fan of Lisa Marie’s for a long time. And it is wonderful to know she is having twins. Congralutions Lisa. The media had no right to say those things about her. Lisa is beautiful. She has the right attitude…..
