  2. SH Says:

hmmm…seems like tyler and clay had the same idea for that scheduled c-section!

not that it matters…it’s a cool idea.

they probably figure it might bring good luck and, heck, the baby is due anyway!

  3. Gena Says:

Congrats to him and his family. But i think both him and Clay had planed arrives since everything is on the dot. But i think it’s kool to have a birthday with numbers like that.

  4. Jennifer Says:

How cool that she was born on 8-8-08 at 8:08am.

  5. Heather Says:

Another 8/8/08 at 8:08 baby? What are the chances????

    Congrats, she’s a cutie!

  6. Cait Says:

A close friend of ours had a baby girl on 08-08-08 … Kennedy weighed 8 pounds and 8 ounces, lol and she was 19 inches long (so another 8 if you add the numbers together!) The only thing is, she missed being born at 8:28 pm by 30 seconds, haha.

  7. sarita Says:

I wonder if it can still bring good luck if it the time and date were forced. I think probably not. I have to admit it looks great, but I don’t agree with it.

  8. poppy Says:

I love the name Dorothy. I think it’s so cute on a person.

  9. SAR Says:

How sweet! You don’t hear of too many girls being named Dorothy these days; I wonder if it’s a family name, or if the Florences are big fans of “The Wizard of Oz.”

  10. Jen Says:

Yeah, I can imagine the look on the Dr’s face when these people supposedly planned the c-section for that day and time.

Congrats to the family and I’m all for the idea of a crazy random birthdate and time. :D

  11. babyboopie Says:

    What an interesting name!

Aw bless her timing of birth!

  12. Monika Says:

    Yay Tyler and family!

And from experience, you can’t place the exact time of birth for a baby. That’s for sure.

  13. anonymous Says:

Dorothy is so cute. Not too big on the name, Dorothy, it sounds Old-Fashoined.Anyway,Congrats to the Couple!

  14. MizMolly Says:

Despite what is said in the comments on this site, I have NEVER known an ETHICAL doctor who does scheduled c-sections based on the patient’s desire. It is a major surgery! When you have a schedule c-section, you are given a week or so to pick the time. To my knowledge, no doctor would give a c-section just because the patient wants one. I had a scheduled c-section for my first. Had it not been scheduled, it would have been an emergency c-section. I think there are a lot of people spreading some urban legends and misinformation regarding c-sections. C-sections are done when medically needed, not to fit into work schedules or anything else.

Celebrities who have had scheduled c-sections most likely had medical reasons that they do not wish to share with strangers/public.

  15. SH Says:

    MizMolly,
I’ve heard of a lot of c-sections that are scheduled to fit into a persons life for convienence…a big one is for husbands that are over seas at war. Lots of those going on right now…People schedule it so the husbands can be there for the birth. I think it happens for other reasons more than you think…and it really doesn’t sound unethical. Sometimes things just come up and you have to schedule for convienence sake. I’ve heard of this too when family members are from another country and want to be there for the baby’s birth…

And even if they did have a medical reason, than fine…they can schedule it for a medical reason for 8/8/08 at 7:30 or 8am…and the baby would be born accordingly…doesn’t sound “unethical” to me…

  16. Amy Says:

Where I work as an L&D nurse, patients have pretty much free run of their desired schedule. Now, people getting repeat cesarean sections have their pick of the dates and approximate times.

  17. Sarah Says:

Very cute baby, looks just like Tyler! Dorothy sounds a little “old” for a baby; maybe she could be Dot, Dottie or Lil’ Dot for short!

  18. Gigi Says:

Aren’t we all just as bad as the tabloids when we go accusing people of having planned c-sections and criticizing every aspect of these people’s lives and the birth’s of their children when we don’t have any of the facts to back it up. Congrats for a healthy baby. That’s all that matters. We should be fortunate that they share the information with us.
