Celebrity Parents Celebrate Baby Einstein’s 10th Anniversary
Celebrating 10 years of discovery, Baby Einstein founder Julie Clark and pregnant actress Jennifer Garner hosted an anniversary party on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
Attended by celebrity parents Melissa Joan Hart and son Brady, expectant mom Gena Lee Nolin and son Hudson, and Sean Patrick and Aonika Laurent Thomas, who introduced daughter Lola Jolie, kids and their parents enjoyed an afternoon in "discovery zones," which included music, art, and a pint-sized jungle to explore.
Baby Einstein also revealed their newest products, available in Spring 2009. New DVDs will feature a "grow with me" and "select your segment" options, while additional items focusing on world music, rather than the traditional classical, will be released. Baby Einstein is also introducing Einstein Pals, which will be geared toward the toddler, rather than infant, market.

Oh Lordy. How is it that Baby Einstein continues to have followers? I mean, seriously!? DVD’s for babies?? It’s absurd. The AAP recommends no screen time before the age of 3 and the University of Washington recently published their research on the detriment of Baby Einstein to infant/child development. Someone give these celebs a clue!

Jennifer DEFINITELY needs a stylist…or to fire her current one. She’s the host, she should’ve had on something better than that. The flowers are killing me!
Sabrina’s baby is 5 months already? Times goes by fast!
Sean’s daughter Lola is soooooooooo cute! What shows or movies has his wife been in? I’ve never seen her before.

Are those baby einstein dvds safe for your baby to watch. Has anyone had any negative experiences from their child watching them?
August 21st, 2008 at 3:46 pm
In response to the dvd’s. Well I’m not a parent…but I feel like one since I raise my niece 45+ hours out of the week since she was 2 months old. I let her watch them at 3 months but only the baby Mozart. She loved them! The pics were bright and the movements kept her eyes busy!! I don’t buy this bull about the AAP – everyone thinks they just know everything and makes parents go crazy in their own heads. My niece is HIGHLY intelligent. There has been no effect on her developement from watching tv at a young age. Infact I’m a true believer that she learned ALOT from watching shows like Dora the Explorer and Sesame Street. Cause there were times at the age of one that she’d be repeating spanish! I know I wasn’t teaching her that!! I also let her watch Baby’s Wordsworth because we were teaching her sign language at infancy! Of course it’s all in moderation. She doesn’t sit in front of the tv 24/7 but at the age of 3 now she loves her shows and I’m not denying her that tv time that she looks forward to!
Those baby Einstein dvd’s are very calm and relaxing. Even I can sit and watch them. The music is great. And the kids love them! Someone find me one child who has had any kind of REAL problems due to the exposure of tv at a young age…then maybe I’ll by into it until then people need to relax!!

Yes Blackrose he was the one in ‘Save the last dance’ with Julia Stiles. Lola is cute…
If Jennifer and Ben get a second girl Brad is the only friend who can ‘make’ boys because Matt and Luciana just became parents to little Gia hahaha… Who would’ve thought that
?

She’s SO pretty and glowy. Just radiant. I love how down to Earth they seem. No silly names from these parents.

I could not have been more wrong about recent celebrity babies – I thought for sure Gwen would have a girl! But I’ll put it out there and say I really think Jen will have a boy this time. I love her tunic, she looks so beautiful!

Kristin what is the boy glow exactly?
I think that Jennifer looks beautiful and she has the BABY glow for me.
Both the babies are goregeous!

Jennifer has a “boy glow”? What, pray tell, is a “boy glow”? Jennifer looked the same during her pregnancy with Violet Anne, who is most assuredly NOT a boy, so I don’t see how she has a “boy glow.” If the new baby is a boy, that’s wonderful. If it is a girl, that’s wonderful too.

Do not let you children watch baby einstein videos. My first born was addicted to the videos’s we have a whole collection of them. He knew all of his letters and numbers before the age of two…the only problem he could not talk. We had to go through earlier intervention and thinking that he was autistic. I met a lot of other parents during my time at early intervention play groups whose kids also loved baby einstein videos and suffered speech delays (some very severe like my sons). My son is six now and fine. Just a note for you non-believers….my second child was not allowed to watch the video’s, and he spoke in full sentences at 16 months (he did watch S. street)My third child is 14 months and hates all tv and he is already imitating and talking better than my oldest child did at 2 1/2. I did everything else the same for all children…in fact I read and talked more to my first born than my other children. (note also I had all boys/sometimes people claim girls talk sooner) He just watched those baby einstein videos everyday…usually twice a day from 4 months to 2 years. There is a study that proves that Baby Einstein videos can cause speech delays. If you want to give your child a head start, read to them all the time…DO NOT Waste your money on baby Einstein videos. Just from a mom who has been through it as well as a study that backs it up. The study came out last year I believe.

I also wanted to post the website with the study about the affects of watching these videos….here is the link…

I just wish that I would have known this with my first born. I really believed that I was helping him become “smarter” and talk “faster” by letting him watch the baby einstein video’s but it really stunted his language and social development. Please get the word out to your friends and family. I get upset anytime I see one of those ads claiming baby einstein video’s are great for children.
