Jerry O’Connell: Already Preparing for the Teenage Years
Most people agree that preparedness is key when raising twins and Jerry O’Connell, who expects fraternal twin daughters this winter with wife Rebecca Romijn, is already preparing himself — for the girls’ teenaged years. "They’re only having sex when I’m dead," Jerry jokes with Entertainment Tonight, in a segment airing tonight. "If they don’t date boys at all and just want to be infatuated with their father, that’s what I’m really going for. The nunnery!" For the 34-year-old actor, there was no disappointment in learning that neither twin is a boy.
I am excited I am having girls. I know guys are supposed to say, ‘I want a boy. I want to play baseball,’ but I think I’m going to be good raising girls…I can’t wait. They’re going to be tough chicks.
The couple has already begun thinking of what they’ll call their little girls, and Jerry reveals that while they are considering names that rhyme, they also worry that that would be "a little Hansel and Gretel-y." Rebecca is "doing great" and "getting big" at five months pregnant, Jerry says, adding that he is looking forward to seeing his wife’s good genes passed along to their daughters.
I’m really excited, I really am. I can’t wait. I’m mostly excited because Rebecca is the most beautiful thing that ever happened to the O’Connell family tree.
The twins will be the first children for Jerry and Rebecca, who married in July 2007.

Kudos to Jerry and Rebecca for doing something many celebrities don’t do before they have kids….GET MARRIED! Congrats to them on twins..they’re a lot of work, but they’re wonderful.

I don’t really mind names that rhyme as long as it’s not like Sienna and Sierra or Lila and Lola or Lily and Lila. This is a little too close to the other.

One news show, not sure how reliable, said that they wanted to name one twin Dolly after Dolly Parton.

I am so happy Rebecca found her soulmate. I still see Jerry as the little chubby cutie from Stand By Me!! LOL I am so happy for them both.

I’m not a big fan of names that rhyme for twins. I do definitely think it’s cute to have names that are related in some way, though, like, same nation origin, same first letter, same kind of “theme.” Rhyming, for me, falls along the same lines as putting them in identical outfits…just a bit over the top.

I’m a twin and our names are Allison and Ashley. Just seem to go together, but not sound alike.

I like twins with names with same intials like say alexis and ava, jennifer and jessica, etc, I’m not into the rythm thing though. I heard a rumor rebecca likes the names dolly and molly though, so who knows maybe they will go for the rythme thing. Jerry sounds so excited, can’t wait to see their babies, rebecca is very pretty

I’m suspicious of this pregnancy…we’ve yet to see her since they announced it. Also, a week before they were saying they were still trying. There’s something going on here…

I’m a twin also and our names are Alice & Candice. They weren’t meant to rhyme but actually do with the “ice” ending.

ERICKA, yeah I can understand why you might be suspicous, but here’s my take on the situation. Jerry actually was pulling everyone’s leg when he was talking about trying lots of times to get pregnant when they actually were pregnant. It was his way of tricking the media so he and Rebecca could get through the first trimester without being hounded by the media. That’s what I think! Anyway, there were a few pictures not too long ago from the Ugly Betty set and Rebecca is clearly sporting a baby bump plus wearing flowing tops compared to the tight shirts and skirts her character wore last season. So yeah while we may not have seen pictures of a pregnant Rebecca, there have been some floating around.

Hmm I don’t think there’s anything going on Ericka. Lots of celebs lie about pregnancy status before they are ready to announce the news. Angie Harmon and her husband just issued a denial the week before announcing the pregnancy, and I think it was Benjamin Bratt who had also said they were still trying just before announcing the pregnancy (or whoever’s wife’s name is Sunshine). I think these twins are sure to be cute!

Anyway, yeah Jerry was obviously just messing around with the press. Those pics of Rebecca is the purple dress from a few weeks ago, she looked about 4 months along so it’s certainly plausible that shes 5 months now.

I saw last night on e news that they were going to name one of the girls dolly. after dolly parton because rebecca is a big fan of hers.

Jerry and Rebecca are such a cute couple. And those are indeed going to be some gorgeous little girls; Rebecca is a stunner and Jerry isn’t exactly an eyesore himself! I think it’s sweet that he’s excited to have girls. I in fact know a lot of guys who are thrilled to have daughters.

I don’t know where these conspiracy theories are coming from. There have been pictures of Rebecca from the set of Ugly Betty and she’s clearly showing.
Jerry is a playful guy and was most likely just playing around with the press, saying “oh, we’re trying to get pregnant” when he knew they already were.
