Spice Girl Mel C. Expecting First Child
Despite past reports that her life doesn’t include babies in the near future, Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm, aka Mel C., is pregnant with her and longtime boyfriend Thomas Starr’s first child, she has confirmed. Writing on her website on Friday, Melanie, 34, shared,
Some happy news! Well, I can announce that Tom and I are expecting a baby and we are very happy. As I am sure you’ll understand, we needed time to wait for results and tell our families. Thank you for all you kindness, good wishes and support (even if it was based on speculation!).
The baby is believed to be due in late winter. Melanie’s slight belly at a performance last week had sparked rumors that she was possibly expecting.
This will be the eighth child in the Spice Girl family! Victoria Beckham has Brooklyn Joseph, 9, Romeo James, 5 ½, and Cruz David, 3 ½, Melanie Brown has Phoenix Chi, 9 ½, and Angel Iris, 16 months, Geri Halliwell has daughter Bluebell Madonna, 2, and Emma Bunton has Beau Lee, 1.

Very unexpected news, but very exciting to read! It’s so great that all the Spice Girls will be mothers now. I do hope they tour again soon, as they scraped the Australian leg of their reunion tour…

Honestly, I’m getting tired of people making ‘announcements’ that they are either trying (a la jerry o’connell) or don’t want children anytime soon (with Mel C) when they ARE PREGNANT.
Obviously she’s not making this announcement at 20 days pregnant, she knew she was pregnant when she made her previous comment. Something like “We aren’t actively trying, but if a blessing were to make it’s way…” or even “we’re rolling with the punches and whatever happens happens.”

I’m so excited for them! She was my favorite Spice Girl (I even dressed as her for Halloween once, when I was much younger and my friends and I decided to do a group costume) and I think it’s so cool that we’ll be due around the same time!

I think as somone else said that she just said she didn’t want babies just to throw everyone off. Congrats to her and Thomas. I can’t wait to see what this one looks like. The others have really cute kids so no doubt this one will be too.
I do hope they tour again someday too.

I feel like people must only read half the articles. What the previous one said is that she didn’t want kids IN THE NEAR FUTURE. She says she will have them eventually(quote below). I think she was just throwing them off her trail.
“The 34-year-old loves kids and believes that “it’s great” that the other Spice Girls are moms, but she says “we all have different paths in life, and mine doesn’t include babies right now.”
Even though she isn’t feeling broody at the moment, she knows that “at some point babies will be part of my future, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with feeling happy without them.”"

Aww, that is GREAT news!! When I saw a Spice Girls concert live in February, I felt bad for her when everyone else brought their kids on stage (and it was the show where Cruz was breakdancing, so everyone was talking about the kids!) .. I hope everything goes well for her!
