Sheryl Crow Says Farm Gives Son a Shot at a “Normal Life”

Songstress Sheryl Crow says she’s aware that there will come a time when her son Wyatt Steven, 16-months, will no longer be "game" for criss-crossing the globe in support of her music career. That’s why she’s making the most of her current world tour. "Wyatt goes everywhere I go, and it’s a fantastic time to have him on the road," she says, "When he gets a little bit older he may not want to go out on the road with mom, he may want to stay home with his friends, so right now it’s great."

When mother and son are ready to disembark from their tour bus, Sheryl, 46, says her favorite place to be is her farm in Williamson County, Tennessee. Noting that Los Angeles, where she also has a home, is "a lot more celebrity-oriented" Sheryl says "out here, my kid can grow up with a normal life."

   The other day I read that Palin brings to the Republican ticket family morals that America needs. I’m guessing not so much anymore.

   I am not for McCain/Palin and this just gives me another reason to think that Palin was not the best VP pick. McCain really should have given that decision a bit more thought.

   Go Obama/Biden!!

   She seems like such a great mother. I know being famous must be hard on the kids and she seems like she really makes an extra effort to keep her son out of the limelight.

   When he gets older it will be about him being in school every day and that’s when it needs to stop.

   I used to live in Williamson County, TN near many music celebs from just about every genre. The towns of Brentwood (where I lived), Franklin, Leiper’s Fork, Thompson Station, Spring Hill, etc. are beautiful places to raise children and have some of the best public schools in the country. I can identify with Sheryl for feeling at home there in being able to give Wyatt a more “normal life.” Even though us locals were so used to seeing celebs everywhere we went, most people left them alone and let them enjoy living in a family-friendly environment without being pestered. The kids of the celebs just blended in with the other kids. It truly is a great place to live…I miss it!
