Sadie Frost: Single Parenthood Can Be Challenging

Sadie Frost says she’s not concerned by tabloid speculation about her affinity for London’s nightlife, because she knows that at the end of the day her kids are forever her priority. "I have to worry about me and the children before anyone else," the 43-year-old actress tells This Is London. "As long as I’m doing my work and I’m a good mum, all that stuff just doesn’t matter." As mom to Rafferty, 11, Iris, 7, and Rudy Indiana Otis, turning 6 next week — with ex-husband Jude Law – Sadie admits that "being a single mother can be challenging." She adds,

"But the children are so amazing. They’re so entertaining to have around and so easy. We have our little community at home how we like to live. It’s so nice. And their father is around a lot of the time as well, being very supportive."

So supportive, in fact, that Sadie says she and Jude are still "best friends" who are "bringing up our children the best we possibly can." Sadie adds that she’s in no rush to find someone new, either. "I love being single," she says, "I have friends that people say are boyfriends but they’re not."

"I’m mummy and that’s it. It’s just kids and work at the moment."

In addition to Rafferty, Iris and Rudie, Sadie is mom to Finlay Munro — turning 18 this month — with ex-husband Gary Kemp.

Yes it is hard, but she also does not have to worry about affording food for the children, clothes, childcare, and everything else you want your child to be able to have.

Yes it’s going to be hard at times, but it’s going to be a cakewalk having all the money in the world and not ever having to worry about it. Just being able to enjoy your children.

While I agree that being financially secure makes life a whole lot easier, it also doesn’t make certain life problems any easier. Just ask Sadie’s friend Kate Moss.

Despite their problems, I like Jude and Sadie as parents. Not to mention those kids are gorgeous!
