Greg Kinnear On Letting His Kids Be Kids

For Greg Kinnear, the greatest gift he could ever give daughters Lily Katherine, turning 5-years-old this month, and Audrey Mae, 2, is that of a leisurely youth. Although he admits that he and the girls "got down" with The Wiggles, Greg says he tries to limit their exposure to "pop culture." Lily and Audrey "don’t watch a lot of TV," according to the 45-year-old actor, and instead enjoy some of the simpler pursuits of childhood. "The best dollhouse we ever built was out of a cardboard box," he says. "I just want to allow that innocence to drag out a little bit further."

When the innocence ends, as it inevitably will, Greg says he’ll be ready — and the girls’ future boyfriends should take note!  "I already have a shotgun underneath my bed," he jokes with PEOPLE. "It’s not loaded though, I want to point out."

Lily and Audrey are Greg’s children with wife Helen Labdon.

   I absolutely adore his daughter’s names! Funny enough, both Lily and Audrey are in the running for my first girl’s name.
