Naomi Campbell Talks Babies, Shows Support for the White Ribbon Alliance

The next celebrity pregnancy you may hear about just could be supermodel Naomi Campbell’s. The 38-year-old is seriously considering motherhood and revealed that up until March of this year, she was not able to conceive. This spring, she underwent a surgery in which doctors thought they’d find a cyst, but "when they opened it up they realized it was more." Now that she has recovered from the operation, Naomi says that she would "love to have a family," but is also aware that "it’s in God’s hands" now.

Naomi is taking her love of children further and is participating in a fashion show that will raise funds for the White Ribbon Alliance. The WRA was "formed to promote increased public awareness of the need to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for all women and newborns in the developing, as well as, developed countries." The reason that Naomi felt called to join in this fund raising effort was simple to her.

"As a woman myself that wants to have kids it’s a given that I’d want to be involved in something like this. I love children. Giving birth is bringing a new energy into the world."

   Maybe once Naomi has children, she’ll realise the value and effect of simple human kindness and there will be no more stories about her and her assistants! I’m sure she’ll make beautiful children, wasn’t she with Flavio Briatore? I only mention this because of the possibility of Leni Klum getting some more model siblings!

   She is such a beautiful woman inside and out! I really admire her faith and positive attitude through her difficult time. What a great thing she is doing with the fundraiser.

   I just hope she is over that impulsive anger stage. Thats not something a baby needs. Maybe a baby will calm her down some.

   I am afraid, that Naomi is a person who is not handling well situations which dont go her way. A baby will definitely bring such situations, so before she has a baby, she has to first work out her mental and anger issues. Having baby is just not something she’s going to have when she wants and can play with it for a little while and send it away when she’s done. She needs to realize that it’s a serious commitment and she has to get ready mentally, before proceeding towards motherhood.

   Kudos to her for helping in the fundraiser !!!

   I was surprised to read this but am happy for Naomi and hope that she realizes her dreams. I was about to jump on the “Let’s bash Naomi for her attitude” bandwagon, then I realized that I was a VERY different, wreckless, carefree, iresponsible person before I had children and I am very different now. Not to mention, I had a lot more worries than I can imagine that she does. Now, I’ll be looking for a pregnancy announcement from her. I’m already jealous of how fantastic she’ll look pregnant lol.

   Wow – best of luck to her future child. With her anger issues, i don’t see how having a baby is going to curb those tendancies. Having a baby is a lot harder than some people think, and if you’re not in the right spot mentally, it can be extremely rough. I just hope she doesn’t show that anger to any child(ren) she may have, because that’s a bad attribute to pass down to children.

   Me, I completely agree. My Dh sometimes has issues with this and that and I ask, is that how you will be when the baby comes/ and he gets mad of course not, that will be different. Yeah duh !! But it will be harder. If you cant deal with things now, you wont be able to deal with them later. And that applies to both Naomi and my DH.

   Who says that having a baby won’t change Naomi? Look at Nicole Richie and Angelina Jolie. Motherhood succeded in changing both of them!
