Growing Up McCain

In this week’s issue of PEOPLE, Republican nominee for president John McCain and his family pose for the cover and discuss the ins and outs of their household. Posing with children Doug, 48, Andy, 46, Sidney, 42, Meghan, 23, John, 22, Jimmy, 20, and Bridget, 17, John and wife Cindy open up about life in Phoenix and the family’s house rules. Although the children are older now, Cindy explains that she still expects the kids in their teens and 20s to check in!
"If you’re home and going [to be] out after midnight, you have to calland check in with me. I want to know you’re safe. Just because you’re24 and on your own doesn’t mean I don’t worry about you. And if you usethe car, fill it up when you’re done. It drives me nuts to find anempty gas tank and everyone gone."

They look like a wonderful family.

They’re a beautiful family and I love Cindy’s quote about the gas tank!

Just wondering but are they all biologically theirs???

They are a very beautiful family. The election campaing, though, is slowly turning into circus. I like Cindy McCain a lot.

Oh, I didn’t realize the older kids were in their 40s. Although I’m not a big fan of John, I have to admit that I really like Cindy. She seems very down to earth.

I like her, too.

His politics seriously scare me, but I respect his service and his family looks lovely. If your grown kids still love you and want to hang around, I think that says a lot.

I don’t recall seeing the site pose the pics of Obama and his family on the magazine covers…did I miss it?

kaitlyn – the oldest sons are john’s adopted sons from his first marriage

The McCains really rub me the wrong way. John didn’t even know how many houses he had and Cindy wore $200, 000 worth of jewelry to the convention! Their politics scare me as well. Also, John left his first wife because she was disfigured in a car accident. Cindy lied about Mother Theresa personally telling her to adopt Bridget, among other things.

Beautiful family! I’m hoping to see them in the white house.

LOVE them!! Great looking family.

I guess so.

Not a cute family.
Looks fake and staged. But what can you expect from the McCain family, really…
Obama 08!

I’m not from the US, and haven’t been reading about John McCain, so could someone please explaing which children are from which wife, adopted, bio, etc. Thanx!

Sanja: His two older sons are his first wife’s children which he adopted (Doug, Andy), then he had a daughter with her named Sidney. His children with Cindy are two sons (John, Jimmy) and a daughter Meghan and an adopted daughter, Bridget.

Lovely, beautifully blended family.

I think this article needs to be explained with who’s kids are who’s(not trying to be rude just find it a bit confusing) lol. Seems like a big mix which is really nice to see. They look like a nice family. I had no idea they had so many children together or adopted or whatever the case is but they look happy!

I’m sorry, but Cindy is down to earth? This is the woman who said that one if her vacation homes were so overrun with her kids that she “had to buy another one”. Uh…..
