Kee-Ka Organics: Socks That Rock!

Kee-Ka makes organic layette and gift items, and much to my delight they’ve recently added socks to their repertoire. A five-pack ($25) will cloak your baby’s tootsies in the softest certified organic cotton, and each pair of socks is made with low-impact dyes. The ‘girl’ pack includes the colors pink, chocolate, orange, red and black while the ‘boy’ pack offers green, chocolate, orange, red and black. Both styles are available in one size only, fitting babies 3-12 months.

The socks themselves are somewhat basic — no fancy designs or crazy color combinations — but what makes them a great gift option is Kee-Ka’s unique, award-winning and eco-friendly approach to packaging. Each pair of socks, and every other item Keeka makes, comes in a trademarked little brown box made from recycled paper. While that is admirable in and of itself, the boxes are easy to mail: they have ‘to’ and ‘from’ sections printed right on the box for easy addressing and Kee-Ka will even tell you how much postage you’ll need to get them on their way!
