And he’s off! Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete was up on his feet while playing at Rushcutters Bay Park with mom Naomi Watts in Sydney — this is the first time we’ve seen the 13-month-old walking. Naomi, 39, met friends in the park for a picnic on Tuesday afternoon.
Naomi and fiancé Liev Schreiber will welcome their second child early this winter.
Sasha wears Nowali Dino Moccasins ($25).

Sasha is too cute for words! His whispy blonde hair blowing in the wind is priceless! Can’t wait to see if the new little one is a boy or girl!
Naomi looks fantastic as well, very happy.

it’s so nice to see a celebrity tot actually walking! so often you see almost 3-year-olds being carried. kudos to naomi!

I think she’s letting him walk because there in the park and the paparazzi seem to be a good distance away.
Celebs don’t carry their big kids just because they want to spoil them to them max, they carry them for safety reasons and to get away from the paparazzi faster.
I love little Sasha!

Why does everyone refer to him as Sasha? I know it is his nickname but when you report on other celeb babies you don’t use their nicknames.
He is very cute though.

He needs different shoes. He has no ankle support whatsoever, and plus the soft soles are no longer needed for when walking.

Why do people care if some parents want to carry their children? It won’t be too long before their kids will be older and too big to pick up. Why not let them enjoy holding their child while they still can. Time moves so fast.Anyway, Sasha is such a cutie. I love his shoes and Naomi’s outfit.

my son almost 13 months and is walking. he wears soft shoes while out. inside socks or bare feet. so his feet can develop with out restriction.
even traditional shoes don’t give full ankle support.

I could never have pulled off skinny jeans pregnant
(Heck, I can’t pull them off not pregnant, I’m too short!)

Jessica- My thoughts exactly! Many of the pictures we see of Violet Affleck walking are also taken in parks, and there again, the paps don’t seem to get as close.
I agree that celebs carry their older kids mainly for safety reasons. A couple of months back (in June, I believe) there was a video of Angelina Jolie (who was still pregnant with Knox and Viv at the time) and Brad Pitt taking Maddox and Shiloh shopping in Cannes, France.
The paps actually weren’t so bad in that video, but the other shoppers were going asbolutly nuts over Shiloh (in fact, “nuts” would actually be putting it mildly!). One woman shrieked so loudly when she spotted Shi that it even startled me! I jumped about a foot into the air!
I felt so sorry right then for poor Shi! If that shriek had startled me, hearing it via a video, I couldn’t imagine how it must have made Shi, who heard it live (and practically right in her ear, too!) feel!
After that one woman shrieked, several other people followed suit. Brad quickly came to Shi’s rescue and scooped her up (she had been walking…with Brad nearby, naturally!)!
Anyway, after seeing that video, I have absolutly no question as to why some celebs carry their older children!
Getting back to Sasha, expecting a celeb to NOT carry their 13 month old is pretty ridiculious. Most 13 month olds aren’t very experienced walkers (and a few haven’t even started walking at all!), and they tend to get tired out from walking rather quickly.
Therefore, it makes sense that a parent, celeb or not, would opt to carry their 13 month old (not saying anyone was implying that Naomi shouldn’t carry Sasha!)!

Sasha is sooo cute!And Naomi looks great,I think she’s having another boy.Sydney is a wonderful city for raising a child.It’s green,clean.Sasha is a lucky baby!
