Franz Ferdinand’s Paul Thomson Welcomes a Son

Concert-goers at the Franz Ferdinand show in Glastonbury on Friday were treated to an unexpected semi-acoustic set, when drummer Paul Thomson skipped the event to attend the birth of his second child, a son. Franz Ferdinand’s lead singer Alex Kapranos announced the happy news to the crowd. "I don’t know if you’ve heard about Paul our drummer — his wife went into labor," he said. "Then 20 minutes ago we heard she’d given birth to a baby boy."
Paul and wife Esther, lead singer of the band Cash Machine, are also parents to 2-year-old Georgie.

Actually, I think this is Paul and Esther’s second baby. Georgie is their firstborn, and he must be around 2 years old by now.
