Gillian Anderson Takes a Small Fall, Says Baby Name is Not ‘Crazy’

When Robert Weide joked that more publicity would be nice for the premiere of How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, he was thinking along the lines of Gillian Anderson — who is due next month with her third child — giving birth, but what he warranted with his joke instead was a fall by the pregnant mama! After hearing the joke as it was told to the audience, the 40-year-old actress was in an equally playful mood. She came out on stage ready to throw a fake punch at Robert, but ended up losing her balance, causing her to fall and giving the whole room a scare. Luckily, Robert announced that Gillian was fine and continued to joke by asking if there was "a lawyer in the house."

Before her infamous tumble, Gillian told reporters that she is "so close to popping out" and this far into the pregnancy, the cravings have officially ended. However, when those pregnancy symptoms were in full swing, Gillian admits that nectarines were her food of choice, saying "they were the only thing I had a craving for." The soon-to-be mom of three went on to share that the baby — a boy — already has a name, one that for Gillian’s taste, is not too "crazy."

Gillian’s new movie, How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, is in theaters October 3rd.

In addition to the new baby, Gillian also has son Oscar, 22 months, with boyfriend Mark Griffiths. Her daughter, Piper Maru, 14, is from a previous marriage to Clyde Klotz.
