Joely Fisher Welcomes Daughter Olivia Luna
Andy Fossum/Startraks |
The Fisher-Duddy brood has expanded again with the adoption of Olivia Luna, Joely Fisher’s rep tells PEOPLE exclusively. Olivia was born recently, weighing in at 7 ½ lbs and is 19 ½ inches long. She joins sisters Skylar Grace, 7, and True Harlow, 2 ½, as well as brothers Collin, 20, and Cameron, 22, from husband Christopher Duddy’s first marriage. Joely’s rep tells PEOPLE,
"They are all blissfully happy and enjoying their new baby sister."
Out of respect for the birth mother, the family will be keeping other details private. Joely, 40, and Christopher, a cinematographer, have been married nearly 12 years. Joely currently stars on ‘Til Death, airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on FOX.

What a unexpected surprise!! I was just finished reading about True and Joely attending the amberwatch youth coalition fun fair, when all of a sudden I clicked to go back to the homepage and find that they welcomed another little girl through adoption! Congratulations to them!! And I like the name Olivia Luna!

J.J., that exact thing happened to me! I was like, “What? Where did I miss the news that she was pregnant?” before I saw that it was through adoption!
Congrats to them! What an awesome surprise!

I too clicked on this story and was surprised, my first thought was, “I didn’t know she was pregnant!?” Then, I completely missed the part about adoption and was really confused when it mentioned respect for the birth mother lol. I had to go back and re-read it!! I’m wondering if they know the birth mother since they said no other details will be released out of respect? There’s not much else to release as they gave her name, birth stats etc. I guess maybe they mean details about how the ended up adopting her?
Anyway congrats to the entire family!! That is really cool

My infant daughter is named Luna so when I saw her name, I got a warm fuzzy. How great to have a house full of little girls.

Heather, they aren’t saying her birthdate or where she was born, maybe that’s what they meant.
Congratulations to the family! I love the name also.

My first thought too was “I didn’t know she was pregnant again” until I finished reading the whole thing. Well, congratulations to all of them. I love the names of all her girls.

Are people skimming or skipping the first sentence? It says adoption right there so it’s hard to miss (or was for me)!

Wow! I just looked at her and True at the baby celebration. Congrats!!! I bet it is weird having a baby in the house!!!

I didn’t know she was pregnant? WOW!! Congrats and the name is very sweet.

Okay I have answered my own comment then, ha.
Molly, she was not pregnant the baby is adopted.

Ha I did skip the first sentence too…to be honest I usually just read the baby’s name and skip the rest

Oops, I misread this and didn’t see she had adopted. My mistake.

Congrats on the new addition and find it inspiring that she just popped next door to adopt a child who needs a home.

What a beautiful name! Congrats to them

“Are people skimming or skipping the first sentence? It says adoption right there so it’s hard to miss (or was for me)!”
Brandi – The headline says “Joely Fisher welcomes daughter Olivia Luna” That’s all I had read when I thought “Wow, I didn’t even know she was pregnant” and then I read the story and realized she had adopted. I think it’s probably the headline throwing people off.

My 3 year old’s name is Olivia Luna and was 7 1/2 lbs and 19 1/2 inches at birth. How ironic!
September 30th, 2008 at 11:01 pm
I just want to say that I really appreciate the fact that, even though it seems to have confused a few people, CBB has the headline as “Joely Fisher Welcomes Daughter Olivia Luna,” rather than “Joely Fisher Adopts Daughter Olivia Luna”.
Joely welcomed a child, and that’s all that matteres.

I can not get over how much Joely’s girls resemble their half cousin Billie (daughter of Carrie Fisher)!
Congrats to the family!

Wow this was a surprise, congrats to her. I read she was inspired by madonna and angelina adopting, and she was gonna go to africa but instead picked a child from the states. The baby is african american, and she knows the baby’s mom I heard

Amanda, as this is not an outcome that goes completely against what was expected (there is always a chance that something like that will happen) it is not irony. It is called a coincidence.
Curses to Alanis Morissette and her incorrect diction for preventing an entire generation from actually using a dictionary to look up the word.
