Kevin Mazur/WireImage |
Singer/songwriter Erykah Badu is expecting her third child, she revealed over the weekend at the Austin City Limits festival. The Grammy winner performed Saturday in a smiley-face tee, showing off her growing belly!
Erykah, 37, is already mom to son Seven Sirius, 10 ½, with Outkast’s Andre ‘Andre 3000′ Benjamin and daughter Puma Rose, 4, with rapper The D.O.C. The new baby’s father is reportedly Erykah’s boyfriend, rapper Jay Electronica, although she will not confirm or deny.

Kids are a blessing and congrats to her, but is it just me or does anyone else think it is slightly tacky for ALL of your kids to have different fathers? I mean, I don’t know. I’m 31 and was raised a little old fashioned. No offense to anyone.

Congrats to her! I’d heard this as a rumor a few months ago so it’s nice to finally see it confirmed. I wonder if she knows the gender yet.
By the way, she did confirm to Essence Magazine in the April 2008 issue that The D.O.C. (aka, Tracy Curry) is in fact is Puma’s father. It can be found on their website.

Gotta say, I am dying to see what name she comes up with for this one!

I wonder why she won’t say if her boyfriend is the father? Why keep that secret? I can understand if that father is someone not in the public eye, like Minnie Driver’s baby daddy, but obviously Erykah’s boyfriend is known somewhat, as the media knows his name.

I just re-read the post…and Erykah’s boyfriend obviously IS known by the media, as he’s a rapper. I guess I should have read the post more closely before posting that I was unsure if he was known or not. LOL!

I just LOVE Erykah… I love her many styles of music from the jazzy tone of her first album to the more social conciousness of her latest. Even my husband who is not an R&B or rap or pop music fan loves her music because he says, “it’s MUSIC”… congratulations to a very talented woman. You have it all darling!

But having different fathers for each child? It doesn’t seem right!
