Vin Diesel Reveals Daughter’s Name

Vin Diesel is known for being an extremely private person, so when he and his girlfriend — model Paloma Jimenez — welcomed a daughter on April 2nd, it was no surprise that the couple didn’t release the name of their little girl. The 41-year-old actor has now revealed that his first child’s name is Hania Riley.

Even though Vin has opened up slightly, don’t expect another announcement about marriage any time soon. While he is "honored that my fans want to be a part of my life," Vin says he and his girlfriend will "let the news out only when Paloma and I decide on taking the next step." In the meantime, he shares that Paloma has been a "calming influence" on his life, as well as making fatherhood a reality for him.

"She’s given me this beautiful angelic daughter who makes my heart melt every time I see her."

   I think it is pronounced “Huh-Nye-uh” I think its a very pretty name.

   I went to school with a Hania, it was pronounced Han – Ya, unfortunately her surname was Trollope, and she wasn’t a very nice young lady, so I can’t say I’m a big fan of the name, but I am happy for Vin and Paloma

   I am Polish and in Poland “Hania” is the diminutive form of the name Hanna (pronounced Hon-na). Basically Hania, Hanna is the same as Hannah. The name Hania is of Eastern European descent (specifically Polish.)Hania is pronounced “Hahn-yah”. Lots of European names are like that (spelled, pronounced differently) but basically have a English “counterpart”. Mines for instance is Monika (i.e Monica).

   awww that’s sweet ….. glad to see that he’s opening up a little bit about Hania Riley …. I love the name Riley but I’m like everyone else wondering how to pronounce Hania ….. hope that we eventually get to see a picture of his, I’m sure, beautiful daughter.

   If they are pronuncing her name the Czech way, it’s Huh-Nye-Uh. I wonder if Vin Diesel or Paloma have any Polish, Czech, or other slavic background?
