Former Blue Member Lee Ryan Expecting a Son

Update: The couple have shared with Hello! that the baby they are expecting is a little boy and that they are "so excited." As for the name, that’s still up for grabs. Samantha shares that, "All along we’ve been planning to call him Rain, [but] now I’m not sure," while Lee admits, "I still love the name — Rain Amethyst Ryan — it sounds great."

Originally posted June 23rd: Lee Ryan, formerly of UK boy band Blue, is expecting his first child with girlfriend Samantha Miller, 20. Although either of them have yet to officially confirm the news, they plan to marry later this year.  

The 25-year-old’s mum, Sheila, 48, is happy for her son.

Sammy is a really lovely girl and she and Lee are really happy. The wedding arrangements haven’t been made yet.

The pair met after Samantha posted provocative photographs of herself on the singer’s official Myspace page.

   I’d like to be a fly on the wall when they tell their future child how they met… “Well, you see, sweetie, mommy saw daddy’s profile on Myspace and decided to get his attention by posting some provocative photos” I guess it worked in getting his attention though so who are we to judge!? ha ha.

   Yeah, I can’t say I’m a fan of Rain Ryan either. I like the name Rain (although I prefer it on a girl), I just don’t think it sounds good with the surname Ryan in this instance.

   Oh no Lee don’t inflict that name on the poor child! I too am a Ryan, and for a long time I really didn’t like having an alliterative name. I’m used to it now of course, but Rain Ryan is just too much.

    I just saw the full name and I’m stunned. That’s very feminine and furthermore, a bit chav. Please don’t do it Lee! I really liked this guy on Come Dine With Me, he just can’t do that to a child!
