"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Jim Threapleton and Wife Expecting A Baby

Jim Threapleton, ex-husband of actress Kate Winslet and dad to the couple’s 8-year-old daughter Mia Honey, is expecting a new baby with his second wife, Julie Threapleton. The 34-year-old director confirms the news to the UK newspaper Telegraph, revealing that Julie — a school administrator — is in the "mid-stages" of her pregnancy, and that the baby will be a delivery surprise.

"Obviously we hope that our child will get to know Mia and take his or her place in the extended family."

Jim and Kate — who is said to be "delighted" for her ex-husband — remain on exceptionally good terms, and Jim says that he is equally close with Joe Alfie, Kate’s 4 ½-year-old son with husband Sam Mendes.

Baby-on-the-way is reportedly due in early 2009.

lol no offense, but that picture looks like it was taken in jail or something;)
    Jim&Julie – that’s sweet:)
I have a question. I’m not a native English speaker(?), are names like ‘Honey’ common? That’s really weird to me. Just wondering.

  2. phoebe Says:

Honey isn’t particularly common, more as a pet name, but we do have a Poppy Honey from Jamie Oliver and a Peaches Honeyblossom from Bob Geldof and Paula Yates. Those are the only ones I can think of.

  3. ruthella Says:

Gail Porter and Dan Hipgraves’ daughter is also called Honey.

It’s become increasingly popular in the UK recently but still isn’t exactly common :)

  4. Emily's Aunt Says:

I love that Jim and Kate have remained civil and good friends. That has to make things easier on Mia – especially when new step-parents and step-siblings join the family.

As an adult, I have so much respect for my parents that they never talked bad about the other one to us kids and they never fought in front of us. Their problems were not our problems as kids and it definitely gives me respect for them. I hope Mia appreciates that too as she grows up.

I wonder when it became OK to suggest a person looks like a serial killer. Is it because he has a beard ? Jim Threapleton seems to be a decent guy who has behaved with dignity and grace in the aftermath of a public and doubtless painful divorce. He and his ex-wife, the equally cool Kate Winslett, are role models for separated parents who understand that their children matter more than they do. Perhaps, instead of criticising his appearance, some commenters would do well to compare him to certain other celebrities who may have found their razor but have no idea how to be worthwhile parents.
