"I just LOVE him and love the fact that he has turned into such a wonderful actor, partner and father. Good for him. The pic with the two of them together just melts my heart. My hubby looks at me like that still and I treasure it because some women wish they could find a good man who will still look at them the same way they did years before."

"If you ask Violet what I do, she'll say she remembers me bowing on stage when I did a show in New York, and so she'll say, 'My mom sometimes will bow on stage and sometimes she gets her hair and makeup done.' It's a great job!"

Alison Sweeney Says Son is Excited About Baby Sister

While he might feel differently in a few months, Alison Sweeney says that — for now — her 3 ½-year-old son Benjamin Edward is "very excited" to become a big brother. "I think he doesn’t realize what it’s going to do to his life," the 31-year-old actress said during a Tuesday appearance on The Bonnie Hunt Show. From the sound of things, Ben has big plans for baby-on-the-way — a girl, due January 20th. "He wants to teach her how to jump on the bed, or like when we play Chutes and Ladders, he’ll say ‘My baby sister wants the green one,’" Alison explains. "It’s cute." Alison went on to tell host Bonnie Hunt, who provided the voice for the character Sally in the Disney/Pixar film Cars, that her appearance on the talk show was particularly timely. "I know your lines better in the movie than you," Alison said. "I have seen it over 900 times." Another favorite for Ben, apparently, is Elmo — whom he recently met.

"I literally almost started to cry, because Elmo was so sweet with him. He told [Ben] that they both have fish, because Ben has a fish named ‘Fishy’…it was priceless. I have the whole thing on my camcorder, and yes, I’m that mom. I wanted to die, it was so cute."

Alison’s emotions have run the gamut carrying both children. She admitted that — with a subsequent pregnancy — she assumed she was prepared for what awaited her, but her response has been quite different. While pregnant with Ben, Alison said that she was"very emotional" and "cried for over an hour when TiVo didn’t tape The Amazing Race." With her current pregnancy, however, Alison joked that she has been "very angry" and filled with "righteous indignation," adding "it’s not normal!" In an effort to get herself "back on the mom track" Alison said she’s been spending a lot of time "with real moms [who have] newborn babies."

"It’s warming me up for baby #2."

  1. Kate Says:

Ali seems like such a great mom. And Ben is a cutie, I can’t wait to see the new addition. Does anyone know how they are working around the pregnancy on Days? After being an avid watcher for about 12 years, I’ve fallen behind on watching for the past year or so.

  2. Katie Says:

They are putting the pregnancy into the storyline for Days. They have it to where Sami just found out that she is pregnant again with EJ’s baby.

  3. Sarah Says:

I loved seeing Alison on the show and hearing her talk about her pregnancy! I’m so glad the show is writing it into her storyline, thanks!
