James Marsden Makes Costumes and Memories

Halloween is a total team effort for James Marsden and his wife Lisa Linde, the 35-year-old actor said during a Wednesday appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly. The couple create homemade costumes for their two children Jack Holden, 7, and Mary James, 3, each and every year — with varying degrees of success! "We do it to amuse ourselves," James explained. "Because we really are so bad at it."

"One year, my wife and I made a spider costume for our son. I went to Home Depot to get, like, foam tubing for the legs…I cut them and safety pinned them together and it looked terrible, but he thought he looked great."

Although Jack and Mary’s costumes might not be on par with their store-bought counterparts, James believes that he and Lisa are creating "better photographs and memories" by making their costumes by hand. While James is temporarily in New York City for work, the kids will be trick-or-treating in Nashville this year, where the family recently relocated to from California. James shared that Jack and Mary — who are enrolled in Nashville schools — "love it there."

"We’re going to take about a year to see if this works, to see if we can live somewhere outside of Los Angeles."

James’ new movie Sex Drive is in theaters Friday.

  10. jk Says:

He and his family lived down the street from me. I’m sad that they’ve moved out of L.A. but I totally understand why. I just miss walking by his house and wondering if I was going to see him that day! He’s adorable!

  11. Lori Says:

I went to school with Lisa. She was a year ahead of me I believe. I was blown away a few years back when I found out she was married to him. She was beautiful, popular and it didnt surprise me. It’s nice to know they still live normal lives like the rest of us. Most people would have moved off to Hollywood. But I cant blame them, Tennessee is a beautiful place to live.
