Natascha McElhone Welcomes Third Child
Californication star Natascha McElhone, 36, has given birth to her third child at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. No further information about the delivery has been given, including sex of the baby, a date, or birth details, but both mother and child are now back at their West London home.
The baby’s father and Natascha’s husband, plastic surgeon Dr. Martin Hirigoyen Kelly, passed away suddenly in May following a heart attack. The couple are also parents to sons Theo, 8, and Otis, 5. Of losing her husband and going forth alone, Natascha recently told the Times Online,
“I’ve never been one to believe in spirits, but I feel we’re allsuffused with him in different ways and that will live on, in me, inthe kids, in this new little one that’s just coming along. The amazingthing is how you can keep going if you have to.”

Oh, God bless their whole family. I have thought of them often and prayed for them. So often we think people who are famous and appear ‘perfect’ have it easy. I for one have found myself jealous of famous people from time to time. This family is the perfect example that we ALL are human and there is no such thing as ‘having a perfect life’. What an inspiration their family is to those who face tough times. May God bless them as they move forward with their lives and may they feel the spirit of ‘daddy’ around them always.

I wish Natascha, Theo, Otis and the new baby all the very best in the coming years.
Congratulations on your new baby Natascha.

Bittersweet… the only way to describe the joy of bringing a new life into the world without the joy of sharing it with your partner. I can only imagine the tears being shed and the innumberable conversations being had with her late husband as he watches over them. I wish this whole family the best.

I wonder why they haven’t released any details? I mean, obviously they had no problem releasing the genders, names, and birthdates (I’m assuming, anyway, since we know their ages) of their two older children.
Why be so secretive about this baby?
October 19th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
I can understand why Natascha wouldn’t want to release too many details about the new baby. This is a time of happiness, but also a time of sadness, because her husband isn’t there to welcome their new child.

Congratulations and God Bless and give you strength in this time of need. Your husband would have been very proud of you.

So sad, very bittersweet. Martin Kelly was a gift from above, I remember watching his plastic surgery programme to help those with tumours or difigurments.Such a lose.
I sincerely wish Natascha and her kids all the best and may Martin shine of them and guide them through life.

“Why be so secretive about this baby?”
Well, maybe because her husband and the father of her baby died a few months ago, maybe she doesn’t know how to cope with all the sadness and joy in this particular situation, maybe because right now she just doesn’t want to give away any details to some people she does not know at all. Sorry, celebbabylover, but I find your comment about her being secretive a little bit strange (considering the situation).
Has she really released any details about her two older kids? Sex/ age are pretty obvious once babies grow older/ mom isn’t pregnant anymore and their names will eventually come up (remember Mary-Louise’s Parker daughter).
I wish her and her family strength in this difficult time. Many blessings.

Thank you lilith. I’m sure it is an insanely difficult time for her right now and she certainly doesnt owe us any information. I hope no one was feeling entitled to it? I can’t even begin to imagine all the emotions she must be dealing with and I can understand her wanting to keep to herself.
October 20th, 2008 at 10:23 pm
Brandi- I’ll be honest, I guess I WAS feeling intitled to the info about her baby. I admit I get frustrated when celebs don’t even release the gender of their baby.
Your and lilith’s explanations do make sense, though, and I apologize (both to you and to Natascha, although I’m sure she doesn’t read this blog)!

Celebbabylover, that was a kind answer. Everybody makes sometimes comments others don’t understand or say something in the heat of the moment, I know I certainly do, and if I was a little bit rude to you (in my first answer), I’m sorry for that.
.
Have a nice day

Congratulations on the new baby Natascha!! I know this is such a bittersweet time for you with the loss of your husband but he left you with such a precious gift to raise. Good Luck and may all be well.

The reason I know it’s a boy as I was reading an article in the Times recently in which she revealed she was expecting a boy, her third son.

my thoughts go out to Natascha and everything she has been through, mu husband died suddenly too, i hope though that she can realise she is so lucky to have three children and be so beautiful that she can earn a fortune as an actress and neutrogena model too, so she will be able to provide well for her children and give them all the love she can too. There are always people worse off though, I lost my husband too and im infertile so i never got to have a child with him and have that connection that way. And im broke too, and not beautiful either so there are more tragic situations ….
