Gillian Anderson Welcomes Son Felix

Gillian Anderson has welcomed her third child, a baby boy. Felix Griffiths arrived on Wednesday, October 15th in London, weighing in at 6 lbs., 15 oz. This is Gillian’s second son with Mark Griffiths; additionally, the pair are parents to son Oscar, 23 months, while the actress also has daughter Piper Maru, 14, from a previous marriage. While readers may be familar with Oscar and Felix from The Odd Couple, Gillian’s rep says that wasn’t her intent.
"She’s never even seen the show. She had no idea. I brought it up to her, and it really doesn’t sink in."
Gillian, 40, announced the pregnancy in June, sharing the due date and sex of the baby in July.

My uncle’s SIL named her children Will and Grace

When I was a kid there was actually a set of identical twin boys in my 3rd grade class whose names were Oscar and Felix, and I remember going home and mentioning their names. My parents laughed out loud at the fact that it’s a famous combo, but I was totally unaware, as children Gillian’s boys’ ages will be.

I love the name! I’ve liked it ever since the Avonlea books. Anyone else ever watch Avonlea on Disney? Anyway, I didn’t even realize her sons are now the Odd Couple till you guys pointed that out. I wonder if it was on purpose.

Lol – to all the comments. I live in the UK (where I think Gillian either lives or spends a lot of time now), and I’ve never seen The Odd Couple, never even heard of it. Hopefully if Oscar & Felix are growing up here no-one will notice!!

Are you serious? The baby is named Felix and he has an older brother named Oscar? Oh now that is just too funny! I can’t imagine what their childhood will be like, such as in school, etc. I think they will be in for quite a lot of teasing, especially if their peers figure out who Oscar and Felix are. Oh wow, names are all over the place these days; some good, some bad, and some plain strange!

Congratulations to Gillian and Family! Felix makes me smile, maybe not my cup of tea, but it’s sweet and goes well with Oscar and Piper. As for the ‘Odd Couple’ jokes, I doubt it would have occured to her, personally! In any case, the family lives in England, Piper goes to school here and the boys probably will too so I highly doubt they will have any awareness of the connotations! Kids don’t tend to anyway. It’s worth noting though, that, as Gillian has remarked in interviews, Piper didn’t know her mother was famous until she was 11.

i had no idea what anyone was talking about regarding the Odd Couple so i had to look it up on IMDB. i don’t think that’s going to be an issue, maybe with older people, but definitely not with kids their own age.

Wow, that’s so weird. I guessed she’d name her son Felix because it goes really well with Oscar…that’s so odd. I love her name choices; Piper, Oscar and Felix. They’re quite unusal. Piper was always my favourite though.

I am go happy for Gillian, Mark and Fam. I’m still laughing not over the Odd Couple thing, because i had not idea, but the X-File Felix anagram lol. That is an x-file within a X-File.
I’m really happy though.My 2 friends had their babies and now gillian.

Hmm, I didn’t know about the Odd Couple connection, either. I missed that boat.
I was thinking of my favourite musician, whose kids are Oscar, Felix, Julius, and Stella.
You could probably google those names to find the band, I don’t want to mention the artist without permission. (But it’s FINE to mention his kids… I didn’t say I was logical.)
