Charlie and Brooke Mueller Sheen Expecting Twin Boys

Update:
Originally posted 2:40 p.m.: Many readers commented that Brooke Mueller Sheen seems to be showing quite a bit already for being due in April, and there’s a reason for that — she and Charlie Sheen are expecting twins! Brooke’s mother Moira Fiore tells PEOPLE,
"Brooke and Charlie are expecting twins, and they are so excited. Obviously, I am floating on air. Brooke looks so beautiful. She is just glowing."
Despite the compliments from mom, Brooke, 31, has had a tough three months — she’s been ill throughout. "Brooke has had all day morning sickness but is coming to the end of the first trimester so she hopefully will feel better soon," Moira shares. "It has been rough for her."
The babies — the couple "think [they] are boys" but aren’t sure yet — will be the fourth and fifth children for Charlie, 42. He is already dad to three daughters — Cassandra Jade, 23, with ex-girlfriend Paula Profitt, as well as Sam, 4 ½, and Lola Rose, 3, with ex-wife Denise Richards. The couple announced the pregnancy in August.

Im totally shocked! I just thought she was further along than we thought! I wonder is they are fraternal or identical
October 22nd, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Aww! Congrats! Must be very exciting!
October 22nd, 2008 at 1:58 pm
I have lost count on the number of celebs having twins or just had twins!
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:05 pm
Yay congrats to them, i am a little shocked too. Now i know charlie “guessed” the babies would be boys just because he has 3 girls… but is ur post saying that they know the sexes and it is believed to be 2 boys? If so thats gonna be interesting bc there are not a lot of boy boy twins in hollywood right now
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:05 pm
OH! I think it’s great, but I can’t help to wonder… How come there are so many couples having twins lately? Is that the new “boom”? Honestly, it’s getting kind of suspicious. Just my opinion!!
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:09 pm
What’s in the water in L.A.? j/k
Congrats! Charlie is going to have a house full of kids!
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Wow really it’s not a joke anymore, every celebrity is having twins now lol. I think they already know it’s two boys or at least one boy thry are having.
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:11 pm
They should keep their opinions about wanting boys to themselves, if they’re girls when they’re older they’re going to feel guilty for not being the boys thats there parents wanted.
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:13 pm
oh another question… if she announced this in august and she is due in april, then she announced her pregnancy at one month? thats a bit risky… somehow i feel shes a little further along than 3 months
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:16 pm
MORE twins? Wowwwww! Seriously, whats in the water? LOL
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Congratulations! I was wondering about that, she has seemed bigger than I thought someone in April would be.
Lisa they only announced it because they were basically forced to confirm when life and style or Enquirer or whatever magazine it was wouldn’t let up on the rumors. And they managed to keep the twins part private until now. I believe she’s due in April. It was the end of august they announced anyway.
Love two and a half men!
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Congrats to them! I read a rumor a few days ago about twins…guess it was true.
It’s amazing the amount of twin celeb babies lately – Brangelina, J Lo & Mark, Jerry & Rebecca, Patrick Dempsey, Dennis Quaid, Marcia Cross, Lisa Marie Presley and I’m sure there are more I’m forgetting.
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Twins! Again….What’s going on?
I know there are some legit reasons, but still-there is no such thing as coincidences.
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:26 pm
WOW!! How crazy is that!! Twins are taking over. Congrats to them both.
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:31 pm
iam sure there is something in the water or in the air cause its happening here in Jordan too!! i just found out that my cousin is expecting twins! and last week a friend of mine gave birth to twins and last summer another relative gave birth to twins! lol
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Another set of twins???????????
Are you kidding????Congrats to them! However I understand that they would love a boy but,Izzie I was thinking the same thing as you and I’m completely agree
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:32 pm
I guess having one baby in hollywood is so last season!! WOW! twins again….I’m shocked at the amount of twins being born lately to celebs. But uh congrats. Hopefully they are boys so we can hear Charlie stop yapping about wanting a son!
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:57 pm
If I were a celeb, I would be freaked out to get pregnant right now!!!!!!! What’s next? Triplets?!!!
But seriously, congrats to them!
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:58 pm
There are rumors floating around that they did ivf and implanted only male embryos…they are just rumors so who knows if there is any truth at all to it, but I truly believe that the reason there are so many fraternal twins in Hollywood is that many celebs are doing fertility treatments. Statistically it’s just not possible any other way. Doesn’t make it any less special…I had ivf for 2 of my kids too.
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:59 pm
While I’m happy for both Charlie & Brooke, and all the other celebrities who are now pregnant with or have had twins, I wonder how many of these twins were conceived naturally and how many were conceived with the help of fertility drugs….
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:01 pm
Well, what if they did IVF or some other fertility assistance procedure to ensure the gender? I think he’s made it pretty clear he wants a boy, and he put out a pretty bold statement early on saying “odds are it’s a boy.” It’s not like the cost of those things would have prevented much of a challenge to them…
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:03 pm
Wowza! That is insane!
As for the comment about the oh so terrible, low self-esteem, etc. that some people keep thinking will happen if they turn out to be girls…seriously? On what planet? It’s not the type of thing to scar someone for life by any means. There’s nothing wrong for wanting a change in the line-up after 3 girls. If they wind up being girls they will be just as loved. The only kids who take issue with that growing up are the ones who are treated like second class citizens and I doubt that’s how they will be treated.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:04 pm
congrats, but what’s up with all the twins lately? is there something in the water, or does it have to do with mom’s age?
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:05 pm
I wouldn’t be surprised if they used IVF to get a boy but because brooke is only 31 i don’t know if they would have used it for fertility problems.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:08 pm
i cant believe they are making such a BIG DEAL about the babies being boys what will he say if they turn out to be girls?? worse what will those kids feel when they read about it .. HELLO BE HAPPY YOU HAVE A HEALTHY BABY .. BOY OR GIRL….
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:09 pm
Seriously what’s in the water in Hollywood? Everyone seems to be having twins nowadays. Anyway, congrats to them, fantastic news!
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:12 pm
That’s wonderful! I don’t mind that they want boys, if they have two girls I’m sure the girls won’t be shunned with Charlie saying “You aren’t boys, we don’t love you” so if they want a boy, thats fine. After 3 girls who wouldn’t?!?! Anyways, congrats to Charlie, Brooke, and family! I’m sure they will be wonderful parents come April!
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:12 pm
YES, whether they admit it or not, SOME of these pregnancies are due to IVF or fertility drugs. It doesn’t make the news any less exciting, I’m just pointing out that all of these cases are not simply coincidences. Of course they don’t OWE the public the truth, but I wish more of these celebrity couples would admit if they did enlist the help of doctors. Keeping it some kind of big secret just makes it seem like it’s something to be ashamed of and sends a bad message for people going through infertility treatments. Lots of people these days need help with conceiving (I know I did) and we’re lucky that we live in a day and age when we can do something about it. It’s not something to be ashamed of. I’ll be glad when one of these couples sets a positive example and tells their real story.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:15 pm
Wow! Totally shocked!
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:17 pm
So I’m pretty sure this wasn’t sperm-spinning after all.
These, I’m sure, are PGD twins. Embryos created in a lab, and screened for their gender. Only the male ones implanted (probably 2-3 of them hence the twins) and 99.9 per cent gender success rate.
Way to go Hollywood.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:20 pm
For you guys being rude about Charlie wanting boys, seriously, calm yourselves. His girls are all loved and I’m SURE he’ll love these twins either way.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:21 pm
I completely agree with Danielle.
And I would have been surprised – even before the news of twins – if they didn’t do IVF to implant male embryos. If I could afford it (I can’t) and if I cared that much (I don’t), I would certainly do it. Why not? I’m surprised more celebrities don’t do it. Then again, perhaps they do…
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:22 pm
I wonder how his kids feel about this! Why haven’t they said how the two little girls feel about it?
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:24 pm
You have to be kidding me! I am just as shocked to hear that they are having twins, simply because it seems like every other celeb pregnancy these days is a pair of twins.
Congrats!
I can’t wait to hear the names!
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:25 pm
Not sure I understand the “they think they are boys but arent sure” comment though. What does that mean? That seems like an odd statement. Wouldn’t they be able to tell through an ultrasound? If they knew at least ONE was a boy wouldn’t they just say “at least one of the babies is a boy but we can’t be sure about the other” or something like that. I am just confused about that statement.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Wow. They could NATURALLY be having twins. They might have had help. Serisouly, so what? It is THEIR choice. We know nothing else about it so no use jumping to conclusions.
This was a surprise! Congrats to them.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:35 pm
Great news on the twins! I just wonder why People Magazine didn’t put an exclamation point at the end of the statement like they did with Alyson Hannigan. That headline says, Alyson Hannigan is pregnant!”, and Charlie & Brooke’s say, “Charlie and Brooke Mueller Sheen Expecting Twins”, kinda like “Ho hum”. Just an observation.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:41 pm
Wow, another set of twins…CRAZY! But I am very happy for them. And I agree with those saying what is the big deal about Charlie saying he is hoping for a boy. He’s got three beautiful little girls already, I imagine a little guy (or two) would be pretty cool.
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:44 pm
I wasn’t expecting this at all. But I did think that she had a big belly on that picture, I thought that she might be due before April.
I think I’m gonna move to LA to have twins. Seriously it’s so strange everybody is having twins, they’re the new fashion items!
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:49 pm
Wow! Hopefully the rumors are true and it’s 2 boys, fraternal or identical, because atleast then his 5 children would equal out closer in the girl boy ratio. Chances are atleast one of them is a girl though with Charlie’s track record so far and everything. They got pregnant so fast after they got married that it makes you wonder if she wasn’t already pregnant when they got married and knew or didn’t know. Congratulations to Brooke and Charlie!!! Good luck with the twins!! Double the fun and double the work!!!
October 22nd, 2008 at 3:50 pm
Well of course they are.
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:02 pm
At this point I’m more surprised when a celeb ISN’T having twins.
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Odd are its a boy?? I was figured it was 50-50.
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:03 pm
another set of twins in Hollywood? This is getting wierd
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Congratulations Charlie and Brooke!
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Wow. What is in the Hollywood water. I think it would be cool if CBB did a special report on who had/has twins nowadays in the Hollywood world. I can’t even remember all of them.

Hi Jess! Here’s one we did in July (it’s a bit outdated now!):

I think it is 100% clear at this point that they did IVF. Whether they have/had fertility issues or not, it is obvious (by thinking back to all the comments they have made about having boys, jokes about having triplets, etc) that they did IVF and planned to have sons. I actually am not judging what they have done. But it is clear that they did it. Congratulations to them. Wishing them a happy, healthy pregnancy and birth.
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:33 pm
I think what bothers me so much about this post is that if the rummors are true that they did IVF with only male sperm, that to me is playing god! You should just be happy to have healthy babies PERIOD.
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:36 pm
Charlie Sheen seems like a total jerk to me. He says things that is hurtful and cruel. Not caring how it effects others. Hopefully, this next step in his life will finally make this middle aged man grow up. Look at him he is not as hot as he was 10 or 20 years ago. We see it he should too.
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:37 pm
My jaw just hit the floor when I read this!!! Congrats to them!!
October 22nd, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Brandi, it wouldnt matter her age. even if she’s only 31 she could have had problems with inferlity and use IVF. Not only women 40+ use these helps. THere are lots of women in their late 20′ trying to get pg for years and cannot so they use IVF
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:03 pm
Yes, there is a way to specifically select whether you have a boy or a girl. Whether you choose to do it is entirely up to you. I always wanted to have a girl, but then I had two boys, so I can’t say that if I had the money, I wouldn’t try it and select to have a girl. I am the mother of a special needs child, so I would be more concerned with the baby not having any extra issues than whether it was a boy or a girl. If there was a way to guarantee that the embryo was problem or disease free, I would be more likely to do that. My son has autism, so if I could guarantee to have another child who doesn’t have it also, hell yeah, I would do it and think it was worth every penny.
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:16 pm
Why does everyone assume that Brooke utilized IVF in order to conceive twin boys. I mean, people said the same thing about Angelina and Jennifer Lopez when they announced they were pregnant with twins. Some people have the good fortune of being able to conceive without outside medical intervention. Plus, Brooke is only 31, and generally speaking, fertility problems are more prevalent among older moms who are in their late 30s and 40s.
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:19 pm
Oh my goodness! Two boys? Congrats to them!
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:21 pm
I just want to add my somewhat educated two cents about this IVF topic. I have tried the Microsort procedure because I badly wanted a boy after having 3 girls. I didn’t get pregnant the one time we tried and we didn’t have enough money to try again. I definitely would have tried again if we had the finances though. We got pregnant again on our own and now I have my forth girl. I love her just the same but I still have some sadness over that fact that I won’t ever experience having a boy. I wish Charlie and Brooke the very best no matter how they concieved their children – but I do believe it was most likely microsort.
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:23 pm
These are just too many coincidence of twins.Does everyone have twins running through and through their families or what?I agree with MJ on this one but who knows its none of my business or anyone elses how these celebs are conceiving their kids.
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:45 pm
Now that I see the April due date, it would pretty much have to be gender selection because I thought the sex could only be determined at 16 weeks (at the absolute earliest). At three months pregnant, she would be about twelve weeks or so. Not that I’m judging or disagree with what they chose to do- that is up to them and if IVF and gender selection is what they choose then so be it. I wish them luck!
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:54 pm
Maybe they just had a feeling it was a boy. At first when they confirmed the pregnancy they said they thought it might be a boy not knowing they were having twins. Now telling us they’re having twins and they might be boys doesn’t mean anything. They could have had an ultrasound but couldn’t see for sure. When I was pregnant with my kids I just knew what I was having before I found out.
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:58 pm
I wondered when they said twins and then they said both are boys, if they didnt do something to make sure the odds were stacked for boys. I dont think he really has a relationship with the girls he has now, maybe him having boys he will try to have a relationship with them. I wonder if when the babies are born how long until they break up.
steph
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Rye, when I had my 12 week ultrasound with twins the sonographer said she was 80% sure they are were girls but couldn’t be 100% sure. At the 19 week ultrasound, she was 99% sure it was girls. I always assumed this may have been what happened with Charlie and Brooke.
Wow, so many conspiracy theories! I know theoretically it is possible to gender select through IVF, but to my knowledge it isn’t actually legal to do that yet. Does anyone know for sure what the laws are on this?
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Babies are a blessing, but I can’t help with agreeing with a couple of the bloggers on here commenting on the sudden boom in “celebrity twin births”.
October 22nd, 2008 at 6:19 pm
I’m so happy for them I know the lil ones big sisters will be so loving towards their new two siblings…Congrats
October 22nd, 2008 at 6:34 pm
It’s sad how celebrities can have 5 kids with 3 different women and not be judged, but other people do and are seen as “irresponsible and ruining society”.
October 22nd, 2008 at 6:37 pm
I have a hard time believing that they didn’t do something to make sure that they were having boys because isn’t 3 months too early to tell the genders? I haven’t had children so i’m not sure but I thought you had to wait a little longer to be able to find out…And if Charlie is confirming their twins are boys I don’t think he would do that unless he was sure…but who knows?!?!
October 22nd, 2008 at 6:40 pm
It’s just naive to think that most of the twins born in Hollywood are conceived naturally. Statistically there are too many happening to be natural, even in women over 35. And this is a community that has lots of money, time and resources to do whatever they need to in order to conceive. No judgement, I just wish people were more open about it so that there wasn’t a stigma about talking about it. But I have to say that choosing the sex of your baby is kind of creepy to me.
October 22nd, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Wow! Twins?! Lucky!! I bet they’re so happy! Congrats!! I can’t wait to see what they name them.
October 22nd, 2008 at 6:52 pm
Paula – I completely agree with you.
October 22nd, 2008 at 7:11 pm
I am a nurse at a fertility clinic. I bet you they did IVF with PGD (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis) or Microsort (sperm sorting). At 31, she most likely would not need IVF, but by doing IVF with either PGD or Sort, their chance of getting boy(s) would be at least 85%. It’s sex-selection.
October 22nd, 2008 at 7:16 pm
I have twin girls and we found out the sex at 12 weeks. I have Type 1 diabetes so I was at the doctor’s office every week or every two weeks throughout my entire pregnancy. I don’t know what the circumstances are with Charlie and his wife, nor do I care. It is their personal business and I wish more people would respect that. Not every celeb and their family wants to broadcast the intimate details of their pregnancies and medical visits. Still with that said, I am living proof that it is possible to find out the sex in the first trimester.
October 22nd, 2008 at 7:26 pm
If Brooke is due in April, the farthest along she could be is 17-18 weeks. You can tell the gender pretty accurately by about 15-16 weeks so she could have not known the sex before hand and found out at an ultrasound. There are also tests that can be done so that you can find out the sex by 10-13 weeks.
Whether or not they had gender selection (or IVF), it shouldn’t matter. It should matter that they are healthy, happy & wanted.
Congrats!
October 22nd, 2008 at 7:32 pm
I read that they spun the sperm and did IUI while inseminating with only the male sperm. There is about a 70% success rate for boys when they do that and over 90% with girls. Whatever they did, they seem thrilled and I’m sure the boys will be welcome and loved, and his 3 girls will be loved as much as they always have been.
October 22nd, 2008 at 7:37 pm
THESE EGOTISTICAL CELEBS MAKE MY STOMACH TURN….THEY ALL ARE VYING FOR THE LIMELIGHT. WHETHER IT’S WHICH ONE OF THESE STARS CAN LOSE THE MOST WEIGHT,OR WHO WILL ADOPT NEXT. AND NOW IT’S THE TWINS PHENOMENON!
October 22nd, 2008 at 7:49 pm
What’s in the water in Hollywood???? Fertility drugs. There is just no statistical way that all these women have conceived naturally. I knew something was off about Charlie’s comments about them being pretty sure they’re boys. Now it all makes sense. I fully believe they did gender selection because he already has 3 girls.
October 22nd, 2008 at 8:28 pm
Wow, they announced the pregnancy a LOT earlier than other celebs. If she’s due in April and went public with her announcement in August, then she was only 1 month pregnant! Most celebs wait until 3 months AT THE MINIMUM.
October 22nd, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Well, it’s a little queasy seeing that material wealth allows for such precise family planning, while millions, more like billions, subsist in utter poverty. But hey, seriously, it’s their right and their opportunity to sieze. I wish them lots of fun with their twins and happiness to three big sisters
October 22nd, 2008 at 8:55 pm
Stacey, you say you work at the fertility clinic, you haven’t seen a 31 years old one or younger there yet?
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:11 pm
Does any one else feel disgusted with Hollywoods new fad of twins? They are playing God by designing the birth of twins! And just a little insight on how it is happening… yes, rumor definately has it that Charlie and Brooke chose IVF to get specifically twin boys, but the other twins in Hollywood lately were all said to be conceived with the help of a pill that is being handed out like candy from L.A. celebrity doctors. Gene Simmons (the lead singer for Kiss) even said that his girlfriend wanted another baby and came to him with the news that she had spoken to the doctor to get the pill so they can have twins. He said he didn’t want them to do it, so they didn’t but it is this pill that has been creating this fad. And from what I hear, his girlfriend talked about the “twin pill” and how easy it was to get it on their reality TV show.
Anyway, I find the whole twin fad really quite sickening… if twins are conceived naturally, that’s fine, and if they are conceived after a couple have had fertility treatment for an honest medical problem conceiveing, again that’s fine, but to take a pill when you have nothing medically wrong with you just so you can get 2 babies because it’s “fashionable” at the moment is nothing more than designing babies, in my opinion. It really makes me wonder why the media hasn’t picked up on this “amazing natural coincidence” of twins and even more amazing that they haven’t figured out that this isn’t natural whatsoever and exposed this.
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:18 pm
I dont get why everyone doesnt get why Charlie said they could be boys—ultrasounds are not always used to determinate gender and when you sometimes want to know the babies are not in a position to view. Just saying that ultrasounds are not clear pictures, and sometimes babies move into positions that you cannot see the goods. However, since he announced they are boys it could have been a newer ultrasound that was performed when the babies were in a great position.
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:25 pm
I agree Molly, for someone who works in a fertility clinic to not have seen many 31 year olds is odd to me, many of my friends had trouble and they all started young….if it’s infertility due to problems not age, it doesn’t matter how old you are. Also, to those saying it was risky to announce their pregnancy so early (she announced at 1 month if due in April) first, the tabloids had a lot to do with that PLUS they said even before marrying they were going to try right away so they probably figured they’d get harrassed once married! Plus they are good w/the press, they don’t go overboard being open but they aren’t very private either, they just go with it so they don’t have to deal w/the crap!
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:35 pm
Now it has become the norm to have twins and having a single child is almost obsolete! How exciting for them.
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:44 pm
I am happy for them! It seems risky to me too that they would announce their pregnancy so early. I announced my first pregnancy as soon as I found out to just about everyone I knew and ended up losing the baby. It was very hard to go back and tell everyone that I had lost the baby at 10 weeks. I didn’t make that same choice the second time, though everyone suspected it anyway! lol
Good luck to them with the twins.
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:46 pm
Jade and Molly- Stacey never said she hasn’t seen many 31 year olds in the fertility clinic she works at. She just said that Brooke, given her age, MOST LIKELY wouldn’t have need IVF because of fertility issues. No where did she say that it’s impossible for women Brooke’s age to have fertility problems.
Anyway, I think we’re jumping the gun a little with the IVF assumptions. Did you ever think that the boys might be IDENTICAL? The only type of fertility treatment that increases the chance of identicals is Introcytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), since that involves injecting a sperm into an egg (and thus tampering with the egg “shell”, make it more likely that the egg will split).
To my knowledge, that’s a pretty rare procedure. If Brooke is having identicals, she more than likely just got lucky (which is usually the case with identicals. If it’s not ICSI, then it’s pure luck, as identicals don’t run in families).
I’m sure some celebs have had fertility treatments (and some HAVE in fact admitted it. Marcia Cross and Geena Davis are two examples), but that doesn’t mean that Brooke did.
Angie and Brad also concieved their twins naturally (J-Lo has said her twins were concieved naturally as well, but for some reason, most people don’t believe her).
Again, how do we know the boys aren’t IDENTICAL twins? WHy is everyone assuming they’re fraternal?
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:51 pm
Steph- What makes you think that Charlie doesn’t have a relationship with his girls (or at least the younger ones. I will admit that it is hard to tell whether he has a relationship with his oldest)?
Also, to the commentors who said celebs should share their stories if they have fertility treatments…Why should they have to do that?
I mean, us “regular” people aren’t expected to broadcast to the world that we had fertility treatments, nor would most of us probably want to (I have never been pregant, BTW. I’m speaking in general terms)!
Let’s face it, asking someone if they had help getting pregannt is basically asking about their sex life. If that isn’t extremely personal, I don’t know what is!
October 22nd, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Is it just me, or does it seem realy odd with all these twins running around hollywood?? i dont know it just seems weird. Infertility?
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:00 pm
I’ve heard alot of rumours that they had IVF and implanted only male embryos, considering their determination for “only boys”, I wouldn’t be shocked. I feel for Lola & Sam, who seem to be completely shut out of their dad’s life. I am guessing they will see him less and less now.
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:07 pm
hope he is better father than husband

Who really cares they’re having twins and if they’re boys or not. They both should be very happy she’s pregnant at all and should be concerned only whether they’re healthy and NOT what sex they are. Just more Hollywod kids being raised by nanny’s
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:40 pm
I knew it was boys with all the comments they were making like oh we think it’s boys, or we want a son, they just made too many references that implied to me even before I heard it was twins, that she was having a boy. I think she might be further along than april, they don’t have to give every single detail and it was rumored in july that she was already pregnant and due around feb/march.I haven’t seen any celebrity admit to being pregnant at 1 month even when they are outed, most of them deny it because it’s too soon. As for celebrities having twins, not every single one of them used fertility drugs, but yea most of them I bet use some type even something as simple as clomid can bring your chances way up of having twins. I don’t care if angelina, jlo, etc all say it wasn’t, who knows if they are telling the truth, celebrities can lie too. If people have the money and want 2 babies in one shot, more power to them but it’s no concidence almost every celebrity is having twins now. It seems to be the trend now, I guess jen garner is being a slacker it looks like she is only having one baby lol.
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:44 pm
with SO many fraternal twins in the last couple years, I wonder if we’ll get an identical pair this time
I can’t think of any young identical celeb twins, am I missing someone?
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:53 pm
I don’t think the twins explosion is at all just a coincidence. I think it’s the lastest craze with the Hollwood celebs but they won’t openly admit it.
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:54 pm
Congrats to the both of them.
Does it really matter how these twins or any others for that matter, got here? I’m sure some were conceived naturally and some were conceived with the help of fertility treatments. What does it matter? Fertility treatment is nothing to be ashamed about but some people don’t want to walk around with a sign on their back saying, “We had our twins through IVF!” It’s a personal preference that the parents are entitled to and people should respect that. As long as healthy babies are the product, who cares?
Likewise, it doesn’t matter how the twins’ genders came about, via medical procedure or natural occurence. I, personally, wouldn’t pick my child’s gender, but that’s just me. I completely respect those who do since it’s their child/children, their decision. If this was just the luck of the draw, good for them as well.
I find it funny, though, how people cast stones at Charlie for talking about his hope for a boy when other couples have done the same. The Beckhams have always been very vocal about the fact that they’d like to have a daughter, but no one says anything then. I guess it’s okay for people to want a girl but not a boy.
October 22nd, 2008 at 10:55 pm
Harley-
Denise Richards said in their leaked divorce papers that Charlie went ballistic when he found out they were having a girl (Sam), that could have something to do with the comments. Congratulations to them though!
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:00 pm
I think P. Diddy’s girls are identical
October 22nd, 2008 at 11:08 pm
brooke- I’m not entirely sure about J-Lo myself, but I do believe Angelina. Angie is nothing but honest in her interviews (in fact, she has been critcized more times than I can count for being TOO open and honest in interviews). Plus, she even went as far as to say that, if Knox and Viv HAD been concieved via IVF, they’d have been happy to discuss it.
ellia- Diddy’s girls, D-Lila and Jessie, are identical.
Lu- Do you really think that, say, Angelina got pregnant with twins on purpose just because it’s the “cool” thing to do? She’s not one to follow the crowds!

I cannot believe it, TWINS!

celebbabylover you think angelina is honest about everything, how do you really know, do you know her personally? I know you love that family and think you know everything, we all like celebrities here but they don’t share every single detail of their lives on interviews. And Lu I agree with you, it’s so obvious twins are the new trend, I mean really what celebrity given a few here and there don’t have twins now and this last year practically every annocement are twins. Of course there’s nothing wrong with it, but is it all just a big concidence no, and also other than marcia cross and one or two others, nobody ever admits even when they are older in age that they had problems having babies. I guess age stops in hollywood, that all these women who wait to be 40 and up, are as fertile as can be lol. CBB should do a post soon, of all the celebrities who recently had and are expecting twins, it’s unbelievable. Some of them even try to lie and say oh it’s from their husband’s side, when in fact twins run on the women’s side lol.
October 23rd, 2008 at 12:45 am
really, it’s not anyone’s business how these celebrities get pregnant. but in my opinion, it’s just so sad that science can control that you can have children and what gender they are. in hollywood, in particular, it seems like it’s more of a accessory… you’re not cool unless you have twins. i’m not saying that some of these celebrities are that shallow but IVF is just disturbing. it’s almost like how there was a boom in adopted children, as if it’s a status thing to adopt a child. but congrats to them!
October 23rd, 2008 at 1:15 am
Back to the comment I made earlier, the nurse from the fertility clinic said that because brooke is 31 means she most likely didnt need IVF. But that is not true. The age is not a leading cause of infertility and a 31 year old may need IVF as likely as 20 yrs old or 40 years old if she cannot conceieve naturally.
The fertility nurses should know this.
October 23rd, 2008 at 1:22 am
I said it before and I will say it again that it is not natural for this many stars to be having twins. Something unnatural is going on in Hollywood
October 23rd, 2008 at 2:36 am
It just seems way to coincidental that she is having twin boys. I know its a possibility that they have been conceived naturally, but something just doesn’t seem to sit right with me here.
All the talk of choosing whether the parent has a boy or a girl, one baby or twins is very unsettling to me. It is NOT how nature intended and it is my personal opinion that it will not be a good thing in the long run.
October 23rd, 2008 at 2:55 am
“Angie is nothing but honest in her interviews”- Are you kidding me?? You have no more idea if Jolie is telling the truth than J. Lopez.
How do some of you who say it’s not possible for these women to be having natural twins even know the odds & statistics? It’s not like these women are related or even all live in the same town. The only thing most of them have in common is they’re famous.
October 23rd, 2008 at 3:07 am
Wow, that is interesting ! it does sound like they might have done IVF for gender selection.
He was a bit too cocky right from the begining about having a son and the jokes about the possibility of multiple birth, it leaves one suspicious for sure
October 23rd, 2008 at 3:13 am
My opinion is that they either so desperately want boys that this is why they think the babies are boys, Charlie really does think the odds of having boys now are better, or that they did go through some kind of treatment to increase the chances of a boy.
In theory, I don’t like the idea of playing God, but having only one child myself, a beautiful little girl, I don’t have the right to judge those who have several children of the same gender and then want a change. I am in my 20’s and hope to have more children, so if I went on to have two or three more girls, I might hope for the third or fourth to be a boy. However, I don’t see myself so badly not wanting another girl that I would go for treatment. I definately would never pass judgement on those that do go that far, it’s personal choice and it’s done for different reasons. I guess my overriding opinion is that you shouldn’t enter into parenthood with any child unless you are prepared to completely love that child, no matter the gender and the like etc, so have whatever treatments you feel comfortable with, but only if you’re okay with the result whatever it is!
October 23rd, 2008 at 4:53 am
I don’t know about the gender selection rumours but it is a bit confusing as to whether they KNOW the babies are boys or if they just THINK the babies are boys. There are some very detailed early scans available nowadays (for people who have the cash to pay for it) so I suppose it is possible that they found out the sex that way. Whatever way, congratulations to them.
October 23rd, 2008 at 5:11 am
I’m with that they might be indentical twin boys, and what it looks like to me is that to begin with grandma didn’t know but in the update charlie clearly says its a boy to OK. At least I think thats what it says. Anyways I happen to think it just seems like something is going on in hollywood b/c ppl watch them all the time plus there is so few that it just seems like a huge number, I mean yes some have used IVF and some haven’t which is statistically speaking normal I would say. It’s like the baby name thing everyone thinks that celebs name their kids wierd names b/c there are so few and they are out there 24/7 almost, but non-celebs have been naming their kids odd/ unique baby names for years.
October 23rd, 2008 at 5:35 am
What is in the water in Hollywood? More twins?! We’re having trouble keeping up! Maybe in years to come Charlie and Brooke’s sons will meet Jerry & Rebecca’s daughters!
October 23rd, 2008 at 6:23 am
WOW! like this guy needs more kids? If he thought life with that Denise was bad wait till this one gets done with him.
October 23rd, 2008 at 7:57 am
Wow! I’m sorry but all of this seems to be happening so fast, they were just married and now twins. Good Grief! I wish her luck, I hope for her sake she knows what she’s doing. I’m a little nervous for her given all the stuff in Charlie’s past.I agree with other posters, I bet anything, they had some kind of procedure done. The number of twins is hollywood is astounding, it can’t be natural. Good luck to them! I wish them healthy babies.
October 23rd, 2008 at 8:15 am
I really do not like rumors, nor speculation, but I have to say this time it really does appear that where there is smoke there is fire.
All this “coincidence” is adding up. He keeps talking “boy” and starts talking about “it’s triplets” etc. and things start to sound suspicious. It could be possible that they had found out it was twins and were just baiting the press with it could be triplets thing to throw them off. It could be two boys and that is just a happy stroke of luck for his wants. Then again, maybe they did all engineer this. Who really knows.
I have fraternal twin boys, natural surprise conception, that are 10 months old and I know a number of other multiple moms that are trying to have more multis. Personally, I think it is irresponsible to try to have multiples, the risks are really high and can be disastrous, not to mention the stress it puts on the family. Not everything turns out so great like ‘John and Kate Plus Eight.’
I haven’t met Charlie Sheen, but I have spent enough time amongst the Hollywood culture to know when someone is a jerk and full of themselves.
I fear for these kids, quite seriously. Given the fact he and his ex-wife BOTH can’t keep their mouths shut long enough for the sake of their children is a huge red flag.
Even if you just look at things from a point of view that she has attacked poor innocent Charlie all this time, he still fires back on a regular basis and a good parent just has to say that what is being said is untrue but they are reserving further comment for the sake of the kids.
He jumped straight into this relationship, long before the hostilities with his ex were even beginning to cool off, and still aren’t. Can he just wait five minutes in between? Don’t kids deserve that chance to have things as peaceful as one can reasonably make it?
This is his third baby momma, so keep that in mind before seeing visions of Happily Ever After With Twins dances in your head.
October 23rd, 2008 at 8:20 am
IF they didn’t artifically choose the sex of their babies (which I suspect they did), then I’m glad they’re boys because Charlie has always seemed a little too desperate to have a son. I hope he sets a good example to his new sons and in the process of parenting his much wanted male children, doesn’t neglect his beautiful daughters…
October 23rd, 2008 at 8:21 am
Congratulations! But it is a no-brainer…more and more celebs are taking FERTILITY DRUGS, it is no surprise. Still…I wish them both lots of happiness.
October 23rd, 2008 at 8:40 am
Awesome news! Congratulations to the happy couple! I think Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen are a lovely couple and I wish them all the best.
October 23rd, 2008 at 8:53 am
Why all the speculation about how these babies were concieved? Is it really any of anyone’s business? A baby is a baby (or babies),and everyone gossiping over whether they were concieved naturally or via IVF is silly. Just be happy for them.
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:04 am
Thanks CBL for clarifying my comment.
Trust me, I have seen plenty of young women with fertility problems. Some have fibrois, narrow tubes, while others have problems with ovulation or uterus. It’s a long list of possibilities.
But I also see a lot of women without primary fertilty problem coming in for IVF treatment with PGD or Microsort so that they would get their boy or girl.
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:10 am
Everytime I see an article or even hear somebody say that they prefer one sex over another just makes me want to cry. I lost my first baby to a heart defect…why is it that these people lose sight of what’s important…having a HEALTHY baby…
It shouldn’t matter whether it is a girl or a boy, just pray the child is healthy and leave your preferences on gender out of it!!!
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:39 am
How do they medically know they are male? Did they have a ammino, because otherwise they would have to be 18 weeks at least to know identity.
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:41 am
I completely agree with Debbie. After 3 miscarriages in a row, I FUME when I hear people say they prefer this gender but will “take whatever they get”. Ugh!
Congrats to them though.
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:41 am
Some people have posted that is seems like every celebrity is having twins but I do not think that is true. Here is a list of some moms who have only had 1 child: Halle Berry; Christina A; Gwen Stefani; Nicole Kidman; Tori Spelling; Nicole Richie; Laila Ali.
Here is a short list of women who have had twins: Jennifer Lopez; Angelina; Lisa Marie; Rebecca Romijn and Brooke are still expecting. When compared side by side, there does not appear to be much of a twin boom.
October 23rd, 2008 at 10:11 am
Di, you’re forgetting Dennis Qaid and his wife, Elvis Costello and Diana Krall, Marcia Cross and there are probably others I’m forgetting!
October 23rd, 2008 at 10:14 am
Diane Farr, Tony from Dancing With The Stars too. Although both those sets were naturally conceived.
October 23rd, 2008 at 10:20 am
Di you missed a lot of people on the twin list. Dennis quiad, p diddy, marcia cross, geana davis, al pacino and beverly d’angelo, julia roberts, nancy grace, jlo, angelina, lisa marie, martie maguire from dixie chicks, patrick dempsey, holly hunter, holly robinson peete, angela basset, garcelle beauvais, ricky martin, and lizzie grubman and jenna jameson are also expecting twins, and i’m sure i’ve missed others.
October 23rd, 2008 at 11:05 am
I have identical twin boys, and have many friends who have fraternal twins, but not any other with identicals. With the exception of one friend, all my other friend’s twins were conceived with fertility treatments. In Hollywood there are more twins in the last 3 years than there has been in the last 100 years so you KNOW this is the ‘in’ thing to do. I think ALL kids are special regardless of how they are conceived, but twins is basically a trend in Hollywood and done for attention if you want to know the truth.
October 23rd, 2008 at 4:16 pm
It was all planned, he wanted boy and she wanted him, so to please him she went into this creepy IVF thing, to give him a boy and he woulnd´t leave her as he did with his ex-couples, i think he is so male chauvinist. Well, at least the boy will be very “loved”. Although I think it is obssesion.
Congrats for the babies anyway!
October 23rd, 2008 at 4:17 pm
Oh wow congrats to them!!!! They (or at least Charlie) wanted a son.
What a lovely surprise, there just seems to be a lot of girl twins around at the moment so it’s rather nice to balance things out.
So…more grandchildren for Grandpa Sheen then
October 23rd, 2008 at 9:09 pm
Charlie Sheen is a gross PIG. Yuk, yuck and double yuck.
October 23rd, 2008 at 11:15 pm
To the commentors who have asked if I can know if Angie really is honest in her interviews…Obviously, there’s no way I can know that with 100 percent certainty. However, she has always been EXTREMELY open in interviews (discussing everything over the years from cutting herself to her sex life to wearing some of Billy Bob’s blood around her neck to how she and Brad take baths together and use that time to talk).
That’s why I generally choose to believe her.
Megan and Di- ITA! And I think Di was referring to celebs who have had twins in the past year, as it’s been this year that people have been making comments about their being a “twin boom”.
With the exception of the Quaids, Diane Farr, and Nancy Grace, Di listed all of the celebs who have had twins in the past year. She also said it was a “short list”, meaning it wasn’t a list of ALL the celebs who have had twins in the past year.
I think she was mainly trying to point out that, within the past year, the same amount of celebs, if not more, have had single babies as have had twins. In fact, I can think of more celebs who are expecting singletons right now than are expecting twins.
Rebecca Romjin and Brooke are the only celebs I can think of who are expecting twins at the moment. By contrast, here’s a list of celebs who are expecting or have very recently had singletons:
Gillian Anderson, Rhea Durham and Mark Walhberg, Amy Poeler, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Caroline Rhea, Angie Harmon, Adam and Jackie Sandler, Naomi Watts, Alison Sweeney, Vanessa Trump, and Jennifer Garner.
I also want to point out that a lot more pregnancies actually start out as twins than most people think. I believe it’s 1 in 8 pregnancies or something. However, in most of these cases, one twin is either miscarried early on or is absorbed by the mother’s body in what is known as “Vanishing twin” syndrome”.
It could be that human women are becoming more equipped to carry twins, so the rate of “Vanishing twins” is diminishing and the rate of twin births is increasing.
Finally, having twins is NOT as simple as going in to have IVF and saying “We want twins”. Even if two or more fetuses are implanted in the womb, there’s absolutly no guarentee that both will take (in fact, this is prescicely why most fertility specelists implant more than one fetus in a woman’s womb: To increase the chances that at least one will take).
In fact, from what I’ve heard, most IVF pregnancies are actually singletons. With other fertility treatments, the chances of having twins are even more uncertain, as it depends on:
1. Whether or not the fertilty treatments cause the mother to release more than one egg.
2. Whether or not both of those eggs are fertilized.
and
3. Whether or not both fertilized eggs implant in the womb.
In otherwords, having twins is NOT as simple as, say, ordering a meal.
October 24th, 2008 at 7:41 am
My guess on the hollywood twin boom is, like everyone has guessed: fertility drugs. One, because stastically it’s not possible for pretty much 1 out of every 3 celebs to have twins. Two, the actresses in hollywood are SO, SO skinny nowadays, which makes it hard to get pregnant on their own (some women don’t even get their p’s if they’re too underweight). And three, most women in hollywood are having children later in life, adding to the difficulty to get preggers.
And I agree, it doesn’t make the news any less special or exciting, but it’s just the simple truth…
October 24th, 2008 at 9:15 am
It’s just the newest fad in Hollywood-land. Good doctors who can fill all their orders with IVF
October 24th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
good for them. i feel kinda bad for charlie and the crap denise has put him through .”supervised visits” for awhile there? like hes a threat. gimme a break. so good for him & brooke!! & i hope denise is jealous as hell.
October 24th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
congrats for them!i hope they have a happy home & bring up their twins together. i hope no repeats like how denise drug his name thru the mud;& all that bad divorce stuff. no more unhappy endings!
October 24th, 2008 at 2:41 pm
good for them. i wish them the best. its sad the comments made about charlie; im sure in his previous marriage he wasnt all to blame. look at his ex wife; shes a husband stealing witch. but thats ok? not in my book. i wish them happiness; im sure these twins will bring!
October 25th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Congratulations Charlie and Brooke I wish you all the best.
October 26th, 2008 at 10:13 am
Listen to yourselves……and you wonder how rumors start!!
Congratulations to Charlie and Brooke on two “healthy” babies.
October 26th, 2008 at 10:28 am
I just hope Charlie doesn’t appear at birth looking like this picture because they will climb right back up that birth canal.
October 27th, 2008 at 11:31 am
Can anyone say Fertility Drugs – must be real popular with celebrities.
October 27th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Congrats Charlie and Brooke. Charlie, I can tell you have found your soul mate.
October 27th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
I read an article in a British magazine today about Charlie and Brooke sperm-spinning in order to determine the sex of their baby. Apparently this method is not 100% accurate so while it is highly likely you will have a boy, it is not guaranteed. This made so much sense in light of the “odds are it’s a boy” comment. This comment had seemed very strange to me before, considering Charlie had 3 girls, I didn’t understand why he would think the odds for a boy this time were more favourable than 50/50. I fully believe that Charlie and Brooke used a procedure to determine the sex of their child, and while I may come under attack for saying this, I think this is SO WRONG. Who do they think they are playing God like this? Just because they are wealthy does not give them the right to choose which of their embryos get the right to live? How does he think his girls will feel about this when they are old enough to understand? If you really truly want a child you will love it no matter what. What Charlie clearly wants is a selfish, narcissistic clone of himself. Are we really back in the times where potential children are rejected on the basis of their sex? What follows this, choosing hair and eye colour? The elimination of ginger hair or freckles? Once you start down this road you end up in a very dangerous place. While I offer my congratulations on the pregnancy, I believe that the concept of designer babies is so morally wrong.
October 27th, 2008 at 9:44 pm
I’m happy for both Charlie & Brooke, and all the other celebrities who are now pregnant with or have had twins or one baby. I think babies are so sweet and glad they are excited. i wish them all the best
October 28th, 2008 at 12:03 am
God bless you both and take care of yourselves for your coming babies

October 30th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
I know for a fact that they sought IVF treatment in New York City. But to protect the blabbermouth that told me. I have to keep my mouth shut.
December 15th, 2008 at 2:53 am
Congrats to charlie and Brooke! I hope they are having boys. there is nothing better than being parents to boys!!!
