Amy Poehler and Will Arnett Welcome Son Archie

Saturday Night Live star Amy Poehler and Arrested Development’s Will Arnett have welcomed their first child, a baby boy. Son Archibald ‘Archie’ William Emerson Arnett was born on Saturday, October 25th in New York City, weighing in at 8 lbs. 1 oz. Amy, Will, and Archie are all healthy and resting comfortably, Amy’s rep shares. Archie is named after dad, whose full name is William Emerson Arnett.
After rumors began last spring, Amy, 37, and Will, 38, announced the pregnancy in April, explaining that they wanted a delivery surprise. Amy stayed busy during her pregnancy — being nominated for an Emmy, speaking at a Presidential Politics panel discussion, and trying to keep her bump covered on SNL! Will, for his part, contributed baby names.

i’m watching SNL right now and when it went to weekend update seth said amy can’t be here tonight because she is having a baby! so of course i came here after hearing that to see if she had already given birth.. congrats to them i can’t wait to hear the name!

I’m watching SNL right now, which is why I came here.
I’m so happy for Amy and Will!! It’s pretty ironic that he came on a Saturday. This was susposed to be her last week, but I don’t see how she could have topped last week
. It all worked out good, and i’m sure SNL already had a back up plan.
Can’t wait for the name to be released — i’m very curious to see what they have picked.

Will, Amy, and Archie… the names flow together well. I actually had a strong sense that the baby was going to be born this weekend, don’t ask me why. I remember my teacher announced her pregnancy the same day as Amy did, maybe they had their babies the same day!

My friend has a boy and Archibald is a family name…they call grandpa Archie, dad by his middle name and baby by Arch. It can be a cool name and can be varied so it “fits” with the person’s age.

I remember early this year people on CBB kept saying “Everyone is having girls I hope somebody would have a boy” and now there are swarms of boys being born. It’s like flu as soon as one person has it everybody catches it.

Full name: Archibald William Emerson Arnett.
Will Arnett’s full name is William Emerson. And Amy’s Dad is also William. Neat! Not sure if Archibald is a family name.
That is a BIG baby for little Amy. Congrats!
And if he does marry Tina’s little girl, they will be Alice and Archibald. How old school!

Archibald? Honestly? I really hope not… that is definitely not my favorite name. I like Archie better. I feel like Archibald sounds terrible at every age, but that’s JMHO.

Meg, the full name is Archibald but they’re calling him Archie.
My great-grandfather was Archibald and I always thought I might name a boy Archie. They beat me to it!

Ah, my little brother is called Archie and that was my something my Dad came up with in the delivery room out of the blue. I’ve never heard of an Archie before or since until now!! I call him Arch the Loon because he is the craziest little person on the planet. Congrats to Amy and Will and I hope your Archie is as crazy as mine!
