Nicole Kidman Raves About ‘Easy and Lovely’ Sunday Rose
Flynet |
Calling daughter Sunday Rose, 3 ½-months, a "beautiful surprise" Nicole Kidman says that while shooting the epic film Australia, getting pregnant was the last thing on her mind. "When you’re in the middle of a film, it’s not something…I mean, that wasn’t something I was planning," the 41-year-old actress reveals in a new interview with the Herald Sun. "[Sunday] is such a blessing and I hope the film is a blessing in the same way."
"To receive her at this stage in my life was such a surprise. But at the same time, oh, what a beautiful thing to be given, and by chance."
With Nicole for a mom and country singer Keith Urban for a dad, Sunday will no doubt become accustomed to travel from an early age. Fortunately, baby girl — whom Nicole describes as "easy and lovely" — has proven to be "pretty mobile" on the road.
"I take her everywhere…she’s that kind of baby who’s willing to be with her mama."

That can-do attitude for traveling with baby was recently put to the test when Nicole introduced Sunday to London, where she had rehearsals for the upcoming musical Nine. Grateful for the chance to develop a "rapport" with her female castmates like actresses Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Dame Judi Dench and Marion Cotillard, Nicole admits that she’s "really nervous" to resume the singing and dancing that earned her an Oscar nomination for Moulin Rouge. "Because I’ve just had a baby, I’m behind the eight ball a bit — your body can’t do certain things," she explains. "I’m like, ‘Hang on, I can’t hip-hop." Fortunately, director Rob Marshall has been understanding and has even "adapted certain things" to make the set more baby-friendly.
"I’ve had [Sunday] there the whole time and she knows all the songs and has given them the thumbs up. Of course, with Keith, she’s surrounded by music — she’s very at peace with it."
In addition to Sunday, Nicole is mom to 15-year-old Isabella Jane and 13-year-old Connor Antony with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

After her split from Tom, I always wished she could get happily married and have another child. I wasn’t sure it would happen but it did. I’m so happy for her, she deserves it.

I am so happy for Nicole! It’s so great that she got to experience pregnancy and delivery. I can’t wait to see a nice, clear shot of little baby Sunday! I also am super excited about her new movie Australia…it looks phenominal!

I don’t understand Nicole. She has said for years that she wanted a baby so badly and then when she has one she is straight back to work. She should just be at home enjoying time with her baby girl rather than working, it’s not like she needs the money or publicity.

I am so happy for Nicole and Keith both, I can’t wait to see Sunday and who she resembles more.
But all I can say is awkward, her working with Penelope considering Tom dated her right after he and Nicole split.

“she’s that kind of baby who’s willing to be with her mama”…what??? that’s pretty much all an infant wants, to be with mommy.

tres..not always true, one of my twins was a daddy’s boy from day one. Nothing I could do would get him comfortable or soothe him but my husband always could. To this day–9 years later–the two of them are closer than he and I.
