Time Moving Fast for Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman

At some point in an individual’s life they begin to notice that time moves quickly — and they start to treasure their past more. Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman tells The Star he has reached the point in his life where "you start to become more nostalgic than you used to be. You become more aware of your mortality in a way that you didn’t before…and life never seemed like something that would end and now you realize that of course it’s going to end." While life may be moving faster naturally for the 41-year-old, fatherhood to Cooper Alexander, 5 ½, Tallulah, 23 months, and a 4-week-old daughter has accelerated that even more.

"Children make it all that much faster and seem much more profound to you and much more heartbreaking. And beautiful!"

Philip and his partner, costume designer Mimi O’Donnell, have been together since 1999.
