Alyson Hannigan: I’m All About the Empire Waist Blouses

Although Alyson Hannigan — who is expecting her first child this spring with her husband Alexis Denisof– is sporting a barely-there bump, the actress was thrilled to receive her very first piece of maternity wear: a blouse sent to her by A Pea in the Pod! With a growing belly, Alyson shares that these days she is all about the empire waist which manages to "disguise the little tummy" perfectly.
According to the 34-year-old mom-to-be, new maternity clothes aren’t the only gifts that have been arriving in the mail. Despite the big day still months away, Alyson has already started planning the nursery and shares that others have made the task much easier! "Well, you know, I’ve been very fortunate because people are already sending me things so they’re doing the job for me," laughs Alyson.
With months to go and a nursery already in the works, Alyson admits that finding out whether she will be buying blue or pink is constantly on her mind. Saying she is "not very patient," Alyson shares that as the weeks go by, it’s "hard to wait" for the big news. However, whether the couple welcome a boy or a girl come spring, Alyson can assure you that she is not looking to steal any fellow celebrity moms’ baby names!
"I don’t know yet, but definitely not Zuma! That is taken!"

I absolutly LOVE this couple!!! I could see them doing a traditonal name but maybe spelt differently.

I don’t get Alyson’s comments about Empire Waist blouses “disguising the little tummy”. Why hide your bump? It’s nothing to be ashamed of!

She’s probably at that stage where you can’t tell if she’s pregnant or just getting chunky. I had the same problem! People are awkward and either try to ask a question or avoid it all together. I didn’t wear tight tops until around 17 or so weeks, until it was a clearly defined baby bump.

This probably sounds kinda lame, but I don’t really care: Every time I see a post of these two my day brightens just a tad. They’re just so darn smiley and clearly reveling in their pregnancy.

i get it, i’m a little tall, and 20 weeks, and my REGULAR clothes are too small, and MATERNITY clothes are too big, and if i wear the regular clothes they make me look cheap cuz my belly just looks FULL, not pregnant, but FULL, like i’ve eaten too much…
and in maternity clothes i look kind of sloppy because they ONLY fit in the boob area…
the PERFECT compromise is the empire waist… it disguises the belly from chunk/ pregnancy speculation… lol…
and i WISH ppl wld stop commenting on other ppl choices of names unless they’re saying i LOVE the name zuma/ apple/ honor…
because frankly i’m planning an unusual name for my baby and if i hear someone saying… no it DEFINITELY won’t be anything like Zuma, i’m going to be offended…

Jaycee, it’s not lame at all, or if it is, I’m lame too, because this has to be my fave celeb couple right now, and the fact that I LOVE Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Series AND How I Met Your Mother, I’m over the moon that these two are having a baby together!

fay–just because she doesn’t plan on naming her baby something unusual doesn’t mean she doesn’t like unusual names, it just isn’t her style. I don’t plan on naming my child something like Zuma either, but it’s not because I don’t like it, it’s not my style.

I don’t think she meant she didn’t like the name Zuma. I took it as she doesn’t want to do a name that is ‘taken’ already.

i just think it bad cuz there really IS a zuma… if someone was to say specifically that they werent going to name their baby fay, i’m pretty sure that wld bother me or hurt my feelings, @ least a little bit…

She didn’t say “definitely not *something like* Zuma,” she simply said not Zuma, ’cause it’s taken. She was trying to be funny. Nothing offensive in that comment. Congrats to them!

That is how I took it too. She didn’t want to name her baby Zuma because it’s already taken. I actually felt like she likes the name Zuma but she won’t name it that because Gwen and Gavin used that name.
In the same way Melissa Joan Hart named her son Mason instead of Dezi because Jaime Pressley named hers Dezi first.
