I love Mark’s attitude about his children. I do wish that we could see them more but I can understand why he shelters them from that life ….. I also like the fact that he realizes that Britney and Paris are role models for a lot of young girls but he doesn’t bash them as some have (as The Writer also said). I just adore this family! Thanks CBB for keeping us informed with the Durham/Wahlberg’s.

While he certainly has a point, I do think that role models should come from ‘real life’ – a family member, a community friend, someone your child actually has access to.

I really like Mark’s attitude. He doesn’t bag Britney or Paris, but he simply says he wants his daughter to have strong role models. I’m glad that he doesn’t just want her to aspire to be like other Hollywood stars.

Not to mention Aunts, grandmothers, teachers, etc the people she comes in contact with everyday and can actually have a conversation with and who should be teaching her by example. Celebrities (singers, actors, sports stars) are there to be admired (maybe) but should never be idolized or your children’s role models.
