My husband is Italian and he used to eat pastina as a child and now our son eats it too. Very simple and yummy. We call it "pasta burro". We don't use star pasta anymore (that's more for when the baby is younger and can't chew big pieces). I use macaroni. Just boil the macaroni until tender, drain, plop in some butter (as much or little as you like), mix to melt, then sprinkle parmesan cheese over top and mix again. I personally like to freshly grate my parmesan as it tastes much better than the ready-grated stuff.
