When Oprah said the Brooks Brothers Miracle Non-Iron Shirt ($90) comes out of the dryer looking like it’s been to the cleaners I said, "You LIE, Oprah!" right out loud to my TV. I’m a stay-at-home mom with two little boys (one of whom is still breastfeeding) and from time to time I would like to look like a grownup, even if my grown-up wardrobe is two sizes (and two babies) too small.

My friend Carie, who is a mom and a professional in the fashion industry, said Oprah’s for real. She swears by the Miracle Shirt and now I’m a convert. The shirt comes in several fits and colors including a button-down Oxford style and a crisp, white shirt with a collar that stands up a bit. It’s 97% cotton and 3% some kind of magic synthetic fiber that defies physics. (They even have versions for men.)
