Carson Daly Expecting First Child

"Carson is thrilled to be a father and they are looking forward to an extra special Thanksgiving this year with family and friends."

Delighted with the news, friends of the Last Call With Carson Daly host — who is a dedicated cyclist — "are already looking for bike helmets for the little one," the rep jokes.

wow, i feel like this news came out of left field. he definitely does not rank high on my list of people that i expected to he expecting news about.

well anyways, congratulations to him and his girlfriend, i am sure they will make wonderful parents.

  2. NELLA Says:

Congrats!! I didn’t even know he was in a relationship. I don’t know why I still picture him as a 20some year old hosting TRL.

  3. Kate Says:

Wasn’t he wanting to be a priest as a young adult? You’d think he’d be conflicted about having a child out of wedlock. I know it’s very “Hollywood” to do, but from someone once so devout to his faith, I find this one odd

  4. Mia Says:

I also agree, A little random, but congrats!

  5. Amanda Says:

Isn’t his girlfriend actually a writer’s assistant on his show? That’s interesting… Congrats to them though!

  6. Jamia Says:

Kate- you and I think alike. Babies are a blessing but I do think this a bit strange. I definitely think he’ll be a fun dad though!!!

  7. Steve Vandenberg Says:

Sounds like an instance where he neglected to use pertection. I’ve seen this guy shamelessly hitting on chicks at a variety of places around Los Angeles in the past 6 months. Good for his “girlfriend”!

  8. Dawn Says:

Isn’t Siri Pinter the daughter of Mark Pinter and the step daughter of Colleen Zenk Pinter? Mark is a long time soap actor. He’s actually going to be on General Hospital starting in a couple of weeks. Colleen plays Barbara on ATWT. They have six kids (3 his, 1 hers, then two together) and she mentioned in an interview earlier this year about how one of their kids worked on Carson’s show. This must be the one.

  9. Elle4 Says:

I did a bit of “Googling” and found out some fun facts about Siri…okay, fun might be promising more than I can deliver. But–she works on his show. According to one of her blog entries (the blog has been removed but I could read one entry through “cached”) she made a joke (about this time last year)about why she didn’t have a boyfriend, so they haven’t been together longer than a year. And, she was part of a show choir-y dance troupe/shining costumes group at the University of Wisconsion in the early 2000s…so that makes her, mid-to-late 20s…There ya go!

  10. hitta Says:

How exciting! How awesome that she’s a uw alum, and its WISCONSIN

  11. ERICKA Says:

    That’s a shocker!

  12. elizabeth Says:

i’m just shocked he’s not actually gay.

  13. jasmine Says:

    oh wow! congrats!

  14. brooke Says:

His gf is beautiful, congrats to them.

  15. brannon Says:

Congratulations! On a side … Wedlock? Didn’t know people still used that word! :) its not just a Hollywood thing – numbers show its nearing the majority if not already there by the close of this year.

  16. Harley Says:

Wowza, seeing this title gave me that, “What the…” look on my face lol. Congrats to them regardless.

Also, since when does a piece of paper dictate whether or not people can have babies? I know couples that have been together for well over 10 years who don’t believe it requires some fanfare to be devoted to one another.

  17. Sarita Says:

Exactly Harley! My aunt and ucle have 3 children (19, 16 and 12 years old) and have been together more than 25 years, thye just never felt the need to get married. That doesn’t make their family any less.

  18. Lana Says:

    There’s one I didn’t see coming… :)
I don’t think that any of the “out of wedlock” comments are meant to imply that there’s something wrong with the conception of the child, but rather surprise that a man who once thought of taking a vow of celibacy has changed his opinions so much. When religious views come into play, it has nothing to do with a piece of paper and everything to do with the spiritual union granted by the ceremony.

  19. mmh Says:

Oh yeah right. A piece of paper = fanfare. You can’t have it both ways — either you think marriage is too much trouble (fanfare) or “it’s just a piece of paper” — you can’t say it’s both in the same post!!!!!

  20. Harley Says:

mmh: Seeing as I didn’t mean marriage = fanfare, I can indeed say both in the same post. When I said fanfare I was talking about a wedding ceremony, not the actual relationship. Relationships require work, with or without a ring and signing your name on something.

Lana – I definitely see your point. However, I also know people change their opinions and beliefs for numerous reasons and there must have been a reason he chose to not follow that path.

The point is that regardless of career paths chosen and regardless of marriage, we should be wishing them well.

  21. Jamia Says:

Thanks Lana. That’s exactly what I meant. And marriage is a big deal because it gives you rights that you don’t have in some states without that “little piece of paper.” Hence, gays wanting the right to marry (which I totally think they should have- but that’s not for this post :) )

  22. JC Says:

Like Dawn pointed out – Siri herself is a celebrity baby. She is the daughter of Mark Pinter and step-daughter to Colleen Zenk-Pinter both soap opera actors.

For the wedlock comments: Carson considered becoming a priest when he was MUCH younger. Clearly, things have changed since then I don’t know why people are dragging it up now.

  23. Tina Says:

Yeah this IS a shocker! Lucky ass bitch! Hahah! I just really hope this works out for them…

  24. PB Says:

If they are so over the moon on being parents than why don’t they do the right thing by the child and get married. I know, it’s not very Hollywood to be married!! But it just drives me crazy all these people who say they love their kids, but don’t want to give them a stable home. People…The best thing you can give your child is a mother and father who love each other and are their for the long haul together.

  25. Bancie1031 Says:

WOW where did this news come from??? Congratulations to Carson and his girlfriend, I wish them the best …… I also agree with whoever said they still picture him as a 20 something hosting TRL …..

  26. Jen Says:

Wow, yeah surprising news. I remember when he was engaged to Tara Reid. Bet he’s glad he dodged that bullet.

Anyway, congrats to Carson! He is a sweetie.
