Light of Mine Custom Ornaments: Lighting Up Little Lives Through Charitable Giving
|
Choosing my baby’s first Christmas ornament is something I looked forward to doing, and the search for the perfect piece ended the day Light of Mine Designs sent me one of theirs. Light of Mine founder Amy Calandra Davis creates hand-painted custom ornaments ($36) in her small, Lynchburg, Virgina studio. Her website features dozens of designs from traditional Christmas ornaments to wedding ornaments… even dog ornaments. You name it.
In honor of the founders’ "little star," Zachary, they’ve established Little Star Outreach, a program that provides music and creative arts therapy for children with special needs. Every purchase contributes to their outreach efforts and they’re really dedicated to providing these programs to kids far and wide.
In addition to ornaments they offer framed art, baby apparel (check out the cute onesies!) and other gifts for little ones featuring Calandra Davis’s art. Egan’s first ornament has a hand-painted reindeer and reads "My first Christmas" with his name and the date on the back. (Personalization is $10 extra.) The artist signs each piece by hand, too. Ornaments can be sent in about two weeks and they arrive in a darling gift box. Wouldn’t these be a cute way to mark everyone’s place at the kids’ table?

Hi, these ornaments are beautiful. However, $36 does not include personalization. That’s $10 extra. Additionally, the ornament you posted doesn’t seem to be available online. Their website is difficult to navigate. Just wanted to clarify that the price is not what was indicated in the post.

These are adorable and I love that the artist supports something as important as special needs children and their love and need for art! These would make a great gift for my daughter’s therapists this holiday season…I only wish CBB readers got a discount because when you’ve got three therapists, that adds up! But very cute nonetheless.
