Life Before Motherhood Blank for Brandy

Brandy Norwood knows what it is like to grow up in the public eye — she began her acting and music career when she was only 15 years old — but she "wouldn’t trade it for anything," because the things she experiencedas a teenager were "beyond anything that I could ever imagine."

However, public scrutiny is not something that she wants for her daughter, 6 ½-year-old Sy’rai Iman Smith; in fact, she would rather have her pursue a different profession altogether. "Of course if [it's] something that she wants to really truly do I willencourage her and support her," says Brandy, adding that "I’ll show her the ropes for sure." No matter what Sy’rai chooses to do with her life, people can be sure that the 29-year-old mother will be there for her daughter.

"It’s beautiful to have her around and in my life. I don’tknow what I’d do without her. I don’t even remember what life felt likewithout her so she’s definitely an angel."

Human, Brandy’s new album, was released in the U.S. on December 9th.
