Jennifer Garner Enjoys the Benefits of a Belly
Bauer Griffin |
Quiet time for Jennifer Garner (pictured out in Los Angeles on Wednesday) is a rarity these days, but the actress isn’t complaining! Raised by a stay-at-home mother, Jennifer admits that, in retrospect, her mom wishes she had tackled raising her three children and in addition, working "just a little bit."
Inspired by the homemaker, Jennifer finds herself searching for a balance in her own life – juggling her career and spending quality time with her growing family. "Finding a balance that’s right for you is hard when you’re trying to have a little bit of everything," shares the 36-year-old. Set on her 3-year-old daughter Violet Anne growing up with "homemade bread," Jennifer laughs that she wants it all!
"I want to have playgroups and go to art classes and be a part of everything. At the same time, a lot of women have been raised to have a career, and you also want to be a good wife and a good girlfriend and it’s a lot to do. What do I miss? I miss reading and seeing my friends."
That balance may be even harder to maintain once Jennifer and her husband Ben Affleck welcome their second child this winter, but for now, the pregnant mama is simply enjoying the benefits of a belly. With a pregnancy that has been "pretty similar" to her first — "so far, so good" — Jennifer welcomes the perks of pregnancy, including the sweet cravings.
"I always have cravings. It doesn’t matter if I’m pregnant or not! I use pregnancy as an excuse to say I’m craving ice cream and chocolate, but really, that’s just me."
As the couple await the birth of their new baby, Jennifer is busy soaking up time with her older daughter, saying motherhood has provided her with the chance "to have this little person be your friend and hang out with you (and drive you crazy!)." Somewhat "sentimental" when discussing the joys of being a mother, Jennifer explains that, when it comes down to it, "your life changes and your heart expands."

I know I say this almost every time something is posted of her, but I really do love her. I love hearing what she has to say, especially when it’s real and not all sunshine and roses.

How funny I also remember reading I think every now and then I should be like my husband and start reading in the bathroom. It seems to work for him.

Mary, I agree…I used to spend hours curled up on the couch with a book. Then my son came along, and I figured that I would have to give that up for a little while. Well, my son is now 11, and instead of me being busy with diapers, bottles and chasing him around…it’s homework, soccer and voice lessons. I guess when he moves out, I’ll have time for books again, lol….not that I am in a big hurry.

I always know that those are true words spoken by Jennifer and not just written words by a journalist ;o) She is a very wise woman and stands with both feet on Earth! She doesn’t have a big head and I am so glad that she has found happiness with Ben, Violet and baby 2! I am sure she is an amazing mother, wife, friend, daughter, sister, etc.

I never had any cravings…. now I’m thinking that I should have made some up!
I bet Violet thinks her Mom is fun to hang out with too
Jennifer is very down-to-earth; the girl next door you feel you could sit and chat with – no fluffy airs or graces whatsoever.

I don’t know if it is the angle of the picture but her belly looks really big all of a sudden

I don’t think she’s due too soon, Ben Affleck was just at some event in Dubai w/his brother. Not sure if he would be traveling so far if she were due say in the next two weeks…

Can you imagine Violets little face with the new little one. I cant wait to see that! I have often said there are super heros, and then there are the “parental super heroes”. Jen and Ben are parental super heroes! If we all the money and the time-we would (want) be like them. Bravo on inspiring all of us to want be such cool parents
Well done!
